Add dedicated sub-forum for GLiNET routers

Thanks for your insight and I really do want to love their products. I own two of them already but it seems like if you do anything outside what’s out of the box, things start to break rather quickly. In their latest firmware release, on the MT1300 leveraging overlay with a microsd card is...

Add dedicated sub-forum for GLiNET routers

FWIW - The same could be said about Asus with their forums, Netgear with their forums, and Smartthings and others with their robust communities for home automation. My experience with GLiNet's forums is that you have very little engagement from the community and staff on technical issues and...

Add dedicated sub-forum for GLiNET routers

You can check out my posts there https://forum.gl-inet.com/u/phantasm22/summary I have both the MT-1300 and now the MT-3000. I have a script that will install AGH updates to the router once installed but also have several posts comparing the routers and general complaints about the instability...

Add dedicated sub-forum for GLiNET routers

There are a number of posts about various GLiNET routers throughout the forum. Could we create a sub-forum dedicated to GLiNET routers? I frequently post on their forums but getting any traction on their threads is pretty hit or miss. I’d be happy to port over some of my content to this forum...

Spiritual successor to SmallNetBuilder for router reviews might be coming?

I hope they add real world testing scenarios and not pie in the sky rainbows and unicorns type testing that other reviews that “know best” do.

MerlinAU MerlinAU v1.1.5 - The Ultimate Firmware Auto-Updater (Now available in AMTM)

I might be in the wrong thread but anyone seeing a spacing misalignment when pulling the MerlinaU cronjob list from amtm?

New ISP, New Speed, now need new ASUS Router

Agree. I’ve been really happy with the GT-AX6000 and the RT-AX88U PRO looks solid. The latter you are starting to see discounted pricing on eBay. These are both the sweet spot IMO for price / performance.

    RT-AX86S vs RT-AX86U vs RT-AX86U Pro

@L&LD - I know you aren't a fan, but I was able to pick up a RT-AX86U Pro off eBay for $60 US. It was missing a power supply which was $10 US off Amazon. Really pleased.

    OpenSpeedTest as an Addon

So I upgraded my AP from an RT-AX86U to an RT-AX86U Pro. There is definitely more under the hood work going on than just the CPU upgrade. I think if you are looking to have a full on internal speedtest server running on your router, the BCM4912 is where it's at. 😁

Is there a way to end a DHCP lease from router?

Thank you @ColinTaylor. I have a new AP that would not switch to the manually set DHCP address. It would constantly pick up the "old" DHCP address in the leases table. Once I removed the leases table, it picked up the manually assigned DHCP address. Seems like if this is the default behavior of...

    Diversion Diversion Not Blocking Ads

Sorry to say but for your Roku, there is no way to block YouTube ads (at least leveraging the official YouTube app). You are also not going to be successful in blocking ads for Amazon. The only app the I know you can block ads on is Peacock. (I was able to watch Yellowstone w/o any ads ever). I...

MerlinAU MerlinAU v1.1.5 - The Ultimate Firmware Auto-Updater (Now available in AMTM)

I can’t recall if this was asked in the previous 19 pages, but since you are adding this to the text GUI, what are your thoughts on displaying this in the Web GUI somewhere?

    Asus TinkerBoard

Came across this thread checking the relative performance of the BCM4908 vs the BCM4912. It’s not apples to apples since my AX86U is in AP mode running basically nothing where my AX6000 is running many things in Router mode. I have an AX86U Pro on the way that I’ll be running in AP mode and will...

    RT-AX86S vs RT-AX86U vs RT-AX86U Pro

So if the BE88U comes to the US and is certified on 6GHz, it will have to have non-removable antennas? If so, the likelihood that it’s 6GHz capable in the US is going to be really small.

    RT-AX86S vs RT-AX86U vs RT-AX86U Pro

I recently discovered a teardown of the RT-AX86U Pro where it has been reported that the 5Ghz chip is, in fact, a BCM6715. Why is this significant? Well it just so happens that this is a wifi 6E chip that supports 6Ghz. The BCM6715 is a 4x4 IEEE 802.11ax release 2 Wi-Fi 6/6E MAC/PHY/radio...
