    GT-BE98 Pro: 40,000+ ms ping using Wi-Fi 7 despite 4 Gbps up & down

I only get those numbers when I'm experiencing the Wi-Fi 7 issue. Otherwise, those HTTP and HTTPS probes are under 1,000 ms. This whole situation is bizarre.

    GT-BE98 Pro: 40,000+ ms ping using Wi-Fi 7 despite 4 Gbps up & down

Things will eventually load after about 40 seconds. When I go into Connectivity Labs > Wi-Fi Developer Options > Wi-Fi and Network Diagnosis > Network Diagnosis > Run Connectivity Check on the S24, my HTTP and HTTPS probes are consistently around 10,000+ and 40,000+ ms respectively. Certain apps...

    GT-BE98 Pro: 40,000+ ms ping using Wi-Fi 7 despite 4 Gbps up & down

Pings from a wired port are 5 - 7 ms like yours. The speeds and pings are fast and consistent on everything except for Wi-Fi 7. Something about Wi-Fi 7 specifically is causing an insanely high ping and slow connections despite having around 4 Gbps up/down. I haven't seen anyone else report this...

    Current Trend Micro Signature?

Is anyone else on a signature higher than 2.400 under Administration > Firmware Upgrade? Mine shows a last update on April 19th to 2.400. I've had issues with Asus routers falsely reporting signatures as the latest version despite there actually being newer ones.

    GT-BE98 Pro: 40,000+ ms ping using Wi-Fi 7 despite 4 Gbps up & down

I'm at my wits end here and have no idea what else to try. When I enable Wi-Fi 7 Mode under Connectivity Labs (enabled by default) on my S24 Ultra, I'm able to get 4 Gbps/4 Gbps speeds consistently, but connections take forever. I don't get this result when I turn Wi-Fi 7 Mode off and use Wi-Fi...

MLO: What exactly is Smart Connect's role?

Is this a BE98 Pro? I've had this bizarre issue when connected to either of the 6 GHz bands with my S24 Ultra: I get over 4 Gbps RX and TX when close to the router with above a -45 RSSI but certain things just take forever to load whereas they load instantly on both 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz (ie: the...

MLO: What exactly is Smart Connect's role?

Yeah... label me skeptical of that being the issue. If I test this by loading 4K HDR movies over Plex and YouTube simultaneously along with Store-Item-Day-level reporting from a web-based retail reporting solution, I can't imagine the network traffic being much different on an S24 Ultra vs. a...

MLO: What exactly is Smart Connect's role?

I'm confused. On one hand, it requires use of multiple bands, but on the other, the S24 won't use multiple bands? I'm successfully connected to an MLO SSID; when I check the SSID details on the S24, it clearly shows the SSID using all four bands - the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, 6 GHz-1, and 6 GHz-2. Yet...

MLO: What exactly is Smart Connect's role?

Had already checked out the Asus article you linked to but that doesn't provide any detail on how Smart Connect integrates into MLO; again, these two features seem to contradict one another. MLO = supposed to use all bands simultaneously. Smart Connect = switches bands based on configured...

MLO: What exactly is Smart Connect's role?

So MLO is only actually used if it's determined to be required, otherwise it's using Smart Connect? The band info for the SSID on the S24 Ultra does say it's using all three bands.

MLO: What exactly is Smart Connect's role?

Enabled MLO from the recent 3.0.0.6.102_34491 GT-BE98 Pro update and have been trying to wrap my head around what Smart Connect's role is as Asus requires it to be enabled for MLO. The idea of MLO is to use all bands simultaneously for wireless link aggregation whereas the idea of Smart Connect...

    Announcement: 3006 progress report - it's a go

While I have this functionality on my BE98 Pro, I haven't used it yet. I'm a bit confused by the ability to create multiple VLANs without also creating subnets to map to them 1:1. Won't having multiple VLANs in a single subnet cause issues?

QoS - Web History not working

    I doubt it's EOL-related. It's happening to me on a GT-BE98 Pro.

QoS - Web History not working

I've done this a bunch of times. The issue keeps returning over and over for me. Have SSH'd into the router and issued rm -rf /jffs/.sys/AiProtectionMonitor/* and still no luck getting it to stay. I fear Tech9 is right; yet another feature Asus doesn't care about supporting.

Instant Guard IPsec VPN Log Showing Regular Access Attempts

So bad actors finding the IKE and NAT-T ports open during port scans in other words. Reason to be concerned? I suppose I could just shut down IPsec altogether since I already use OpenVPN and Wireguard. Wanted to keep all three running as backup options.

Instant Guard IPsec VPN Log Showing Regular Access Attempts

For the past 7 days now, I've seen what appears to be intermittent access attempts in my Instant Guard log. The most recent from today: Mar 3 07:47:55 06[NET] received packet: from 45.83.66.29[27647] to 96.x.x.x[500] (336 bytes) Mar 3 07:47:55 06[ENC] parsed ID_PROT request 0 [ SA ] Mar 3...

    ASUS GT-BE98 Pro Firmware

Happy to test this out for you but would need to know the best method for going about this while only having Asus Stock firmware. I have one of the 10G ports connected to a 10G port on my Netgear SX10 switch.

    ASUS GT-BE98 Pro Firmware

I got one of these bad boys for Christmas and am loving it so far. But then again, my newest router was from 2017 and I had been completely missing out on the benefits of 802.11AX, nevermind 802.11BE. The way I saw it, sure, I could have saved some money by going with a discounted 6E router but...

AiCloud: Samba share folder contents empty only on main drive

Noticing some very bizarre behavior when accessing any shared folder that's on my C drive in AiCloud. While the files in shared folders on my other drives load just fine, any shared folder from my C drive is showing as empty. It doesn't appear to be a permissions issue; if I click back to the...
