    Not sure. Some people got their non-Pro in 2023 already, the H/W Ver. 2.0 also mentions manufacturing year 2024, so it could be that those manufactured in 2023 have a different H/W Ver.

    Is there any practical difference in hardware version 2.0 manufactured in 2024 compared to the earlier release? This is the GT-BE98 i.e. the non-pro version.

    Yes, happens from time to time. May be due to maintenance or unplanned service disruption on the Asus side. Suggest you try again after several hours or next day, that always worked for me in the past. Alternatively, manually download the firmware from the specific router support website.

    FYI ... Asus has now made available the full user manual for the BE98 Pro here https://rog.asus.com/networking/rog-rapture-gt-be98-pro/helpdesk_manual/. Not available yet for the BE98 but should be very similar apart from the number of 6Ghz bands.

    What Routers support AiProtection Pro?

    You can check the 'Tech Specs' tabs on the respective router product pages. A sample check reveals mentioning of "AiProtection Pro" for GT-AX6000, GT-AXE16000 and GT-BE98 Pro, for example. In the router config settings it is simply called 'AiProtection', at least looking at the GT-AXE16000 config.

    Thank you for the pointer. When looking at the latest online specs, the bands are different (which is probably the reason the theoretical Gbps are different). The Pro has 2 x 6GHz bands whilst the non-Pro has 1 x 6GHz band. Vice versa for the 5Ghz band(s).
