News RT-AC68U End of Life Announced by Asus

I don't know but don't get one on the earlier side of these lists: https://www.asus.com/support/faq/1051375/ https://www.asus.com/us/support/faq/1051929/

News RT-AC68U End of Life Announced by Asus

As I said, there's no guarantee that Asus will just EOL/stop shipping security updates once those dates pass but at least it seems they have legal obligations in the UK to do so until those published dates.

News RT-AC68U End of Life Announced by Asus

Anyone still looking for a replacement should probably avoid the ones in the 1st section of the doc I found and posted at https://www.snbforums.com/threads/duration-of-security-update-support-only-for-uk-article.90012/.

"Duration of Security Update Support (only for UK)" article

The other day while looking around for stuff about the RT-AX5400 routers I recently bought (one for work, one for home), I stumbled across https://www.asus.com/us/support/faq/1051929/ dated May 7, 2024. Unfortunately, the only one with "4 years (until 31th December 2028)" is the RT-BE88U which...

    AX86U & AX88U Pro, same power supply?

^^^ Yep, but the polarity must be correct and the plug must fit too.

AC87U frequent dropoff in internet on both WiFi and ethernet - whats going on?

And, as the other thread mentioned, RT-AC87U is now on https://www.asus.com/event/network/eol-product/ so "Its firmware, utility, website, DM, QSG and manual will not be updated".

    GT-AC5300 - DHCP lease issues

Not that this helps but GT-AC5300 has hit EOL per https://www.asus.com/event/network/eol-product/.

    Asus RT-AX5400 vs RT-AX82U

FWIW, the RT-AX5400 is still $129.99 USD at Amazon after the Asus Amazon sale ended. RT-AX82U is $149.99 USD. I received the RT-AX5400 a few days ago so I only recently got it up and running. Seems fine so far. It replaces the RT-AC68U I was using which hit EOL. At work, I also have an...

    ac87 upgrade?

Indeed. OP should look at https://www.asus.com/event/network/eol-product/. I wouldn't buy anything that has hit EOL stage.

    RT-AX56U EOL question.

(thread resurrection) On this note, RT-AX56U_V1, RT-AC88U, RT-AC3100, RT-AC5300 are all now on https://www.asus.com/event/network/eol-product/.

News RT-AC68U End of Life Announced by Asus

For those in the US, on Asus's site I was getting an ad about Asus week or something like that. It led me to https://www.amazon.com/b?tag=snbforums-20. The WiFi section lists a bunch of units on sale including the RT-AX5400 I ordered for $129.99 USD. Today, I found , so it seems this sale...

Is Asus RT AX3000 v2 going to receive a firmware update?

Yep. https://www.asus.com/networking-iot-servers/wifi-routers/asus-wifi-routers/rt-ax5400/helpdesk_bios?model2Name=RT-AX5400 says: "ASUS RT-AX5400 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.22093 .. 2023/01/04 Initial firmware release"

Is Asus RT AX3000 v2 going to receive a firmware update?

Hmm... that's a little bit troubling then (in terms of possible support length). From https://www.asus.com/supportonly/rt-ax82u/helpdesk_bios?model2Name=RT-AX82U, there is this: "ASUS RT-AX82U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.384.9261 ... 2020/05/22 Initial release" Crossing my fingers that the...

RT-AC68U - Issues and problem with upgrading firmware

I ran into the same problem as the OP with my home RT-AC68U and one at work. Actually, the router just goes down at midnight for 5 to 15 minutes, once or twice before self-recovering and not updating. My home router and work router has stuff like this in the logs (some info redacted): "Apr 21...

Is Asus RT AX3000 v2 going to receive a firmware update?

I ended up ordering an RT-AX5400 as they're currently on sale at Amazon for $129.99 USD. I tried updating again via the RT-AC68U's web UI earlier today and it again went thru the motions but in the end, the update didn't "take". I ended up downloading the firmware file for 3.0.0.4.386_51685...
