    Release ASUS RT-AX59U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388_33950 (2025/09/09)

@bingoshrimp @UltrashRicco Hey guys, I'm sad to see you having great hardware and struggling to move ahead because of bad software/firmware. Using old firmware can come with serious security issues, so I really don't recommend running 33407/33427 from 2024, even if it's stable. If you decide to...

    Release ASUS RT-AX59U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388_33950 (2025/09/09)

The time you guys take to write down your complaints would be enough to flash OpenWrt. Add 1 more hour of documentation and you're ready to go with a full manual setup. No joke 😃 OpenWrt SNAPSHOT builds come with kernel 6.12 already and have pretty good performance thanks to hardware/software...

    Release ASUS RT-AX59U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388_33950 (2025/09/09)

@bingoshrimp I only gave you my own experience with the device, it was a friendly suggestion, that's all. But at the end of the day, it is entirely your choice what you do with your router. AFAIK Broadcom-based Asus units are being used by many with Merlin's firmware and Mediatek-based ones...

    Release ASUS RT-AX59U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388_33950 (2025/09/09)

@bingoshrimp I suggest OpenWrt, it solved all outstanding problems, my AX59U has been rock solid for months. I can't really understand why would anyone run AsusWrt on it.

    Release ASUS TUF-AX6000 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388_33903 (2025/03/17)

33427 was the first to fix the SSH backdoor. However, I still recommend the latest OpenWrt snapshot build for TUF-AX6000 / TUF-AX4200 / AX59U - they're based on MediaTek's Filogic 830 platform, very stable and fast - https://openwrt.org/toh/asus/tuf-ax6000#using_the_unofficial_trx_images_method

    ASUS router recommendation Wifi 6/6E?

I recommend any of TUF-AX6000 / TUF-AX4200 / RT-AX59U, all based on the same MediaTek Filogic 830 MT7986A 4x2 GHz CPU because they are fast and stable with latest OpenWrt snapshot builds - kernel 6.6 at the moment, but soon with 6.12 - what else would you want?

    Release ASUS RT-AX59U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388_33911 (2025/05/27)

Most probably not. The issues will perhaps be solved only in 33914+, according to https://www.snbforums.com/threads/asus-tuf-ax4200-firmware-version-3-0-0-4-388_33903-2025-03-13.94116/#post-956973

    Release ASUS RT-AX59U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388_33903 (2025/03/13)

Don't be a beginner :p It's not that difficult, actually. Personally, I would never go back to stock firmware. But I don't want to force anything on anyone. Just wanted to give you guys a better alternative, seeing that there are some complaints regarding instabilities with stock firmware lately.

ANNOUNCEMENT: Asuswrt-Merlin support underway for 3 Wifi 7 routers

That's not reassuring for me, sorry @RMerlin. Considering what they've been up to, I'm done with Asus.
