So much for VPNs - Except when used for Android devices

People using them for geolocation services on streaming devices. A lot of which run on android of some sort. That is if you consider a streaming stick an IoT device, and not just doorbells and lightbulbs.

I don’t think there were any WiFi changes in this firmware.

I see it now. The Leviathan website was jumping around every other time I scrolled on my phone. I wonder if OS vendors will do anything as it's working as intended, other than Android. I definitely improved my understanding of DHCP servers this evening.

This does imply, if I understand correctly, a malicious actor already has access to either the client side LAN or the server side LAN. If that’s the case you already have problems. Trust no hotspot.

Do you have IPv6 turned on?

Beta Asus GT-AX6000 beta firmware version 9.0.0.6_102_33874 (2024/02/23)

I’m guessing one keeps the very ‘intense’ ROG gui theme, and the other has the standard ASUS gui.

I did try powering down both. I don’t really like the connectors on the cable I had used anyway. They were a pain to get on and off, so the swap was worth it anyway. The green light on the port would go out on the modem if bumped at all. So I’m guessing it had just gotten bumped around too much.

Looks like the cable I’ve used for years wore out from lifting the modem to dust under and around weekly 🤣

Been having momentary WAN drops for the last 3 days about the same time 9-10am-ish, and comes right back second later. Generally happens 2-3 times and is fine for the rest of the day. Modem is staying up and connected to the ISP, nothing in the log, but the router is saying: May 3 09:43:21...

    This could be the case.

    BE96U firmware 3.0.0.6.102_34488

I can back this up. I can get 1300Mbps down on my iPhone 15 Pro. I don't have 160Mhz enabled to get a screenshot at the moment, but it is the only device I have that gets a boost from 160Mhz. Hence why I don't bother enabling it with DFS channels.
