    Guest wifi for smart devices

Yes, allowing intranet access defeats the guest / main LAN isolation.

    IQRouter Pro

My current combination: Firewalla Gold original ( uses almost 1/2 power of Rev B - 6 watts vs 10 watts ) 2 eero Pro 6 in Bridge mode and wireless mesh After a couple of weeks tweaking the FWG, my network is very stable and everything just works. It’s boringly reliable :)

GT-AXE16000 dual WAN and reserving IP

If you don’t object to running the Merlin firmware: https://www.snbforums.com/threads/about-asuswrt-merlin-custom-firmware-for-asus-routers.7846/ You can give the @Ranger802004 script a try and see of it does what you need. https://www.snbforums.com/threads/dual-wan-failover-v2-release.83674/...

    Asus RT-AX88U Pro

If you are running Asuswrt-Merlin firmware and use a lot of static assigned IPs, YazDHCP is the way to go. I have used it with great success in the past.

How well does your AX86U Pro work for you

I can understand that. I am starting to think that way myself.

Asus XT8 - latency on local WiFi network between hosts

My XT8 units in AP mode exhibit the same latency. So far it has not caused any issues.

Asus AC86U VS AX86U Pro Range

My AX86U_Pro has excellent wifi coverage. I am not sure it is better than my AC86U, but certainly just as good.

Honest review of Asus WRT 5.0 (3.0.0.6 Branch)

Yes, multiple full resets. I did not mention it because that is my standard procedure. My setups are not overly complicated so reconfiguring after a full reset is not a big deal.

    FireStick Amazon No WiFi Connection

I run 3 Firesticks, 2 are the MAX and 1 is the 4K. I have never had an issue with any Asus or for that matter, any wifi router being able to connect.

Honest review of Asus WRT 5.0 (3.0.0.6 Branch)

I too was dissapointed in the released 3.0.0.6 after having great results using the Beta version on my AX86U_Pro. Interesting that no 3.0.0.6 final release has been issued for the AX86U_Pro as of this time. When any of my neighbors in our retirement community asks for recommendations for a new...

Honest review of Asus WRT 5.0 (3.0.0.6 Branch)

This too was my experience with a GT-AX6000 I was helping my neighbor setup using the latest 3.0.0.6 firmware. See my post in thread 'Which ASUS Router to buy ?' https://www.snbforums.com/threads/which-asus-router-to-buy.85799/post-852527

Which ASUS Router to buy ?

I have run opensense but I have a lot more time on pfsense. They are great but not as easy to configure and manage as Arista (Untangle). If it was still $50 annually I would get the subscription. However, the $50 package does not have Dual WAN / Load Balance support which I need. I may look at...

Which ASUS Router to buy ?

UPDATE: My neighbor purchased his own RT-AX86U Pro, loaded the Beta firmware, restored a saved config from when he was using my 86U Pro and everything is working great for him. I got my AX86U Pro back from him, did a reset on it and placed it back in it’s holding spot on the shelf in my...

News Unreleased Pro models and just announced ExpertWiFi models native VLAN support

To test the potential of the AX86U Pro you need to load the latest Beta firmware. For now, mine is collecting dust on a shelf in my office. :)
