    Modern recommended wireless router

Sorry didn't see this subforum. Thanks for moving the topic! I'll also browse it too. Totally missed it. Thank you for your response! Only 20 dollars more for AX88u Pro, would you say that ax88u Pro is better than the ax86u Pro then? Asked differently, for the same price would you go with the...

    Modern recommended wireless router

Helping out someone. They're currently using a RT-AC3200 as the router for their small business. Most devices are connected via a switch connected the to RC-AC3200. Few wifi devices as well. They've had this router for a long time. Recently having connectivity issues, requiring network reboots...

    RT-AC68 + PCE-AC68 slow WAN over wifi

Just to add. I was on latest Asus and just tried latest Merlin but same speeds.

    RT-AC68 + PCE-AC68 slow WAN over wifi

I have a T-mobile router that I previously firmwared to Asus RT-AC68 (not merlin). I'm connecting to it over ac with a PC with a PCE-AC68. For testing purposes, the computer and router are in the same room right now. I'm unable to get greater than ~50 Mbps speeds on speedtest.net. If I plug in...

    High dropped wireless packets

    Any help? Added TLDR.

    High dropped wireless packets

Sometimes I get a relatively high rate of dropped packets. For example, I'll play a game, latency is relatively low (under 100, even under 50), then I suddenly lag, keep playing, lag, keep playing, lag and get disconnected. I always though this was an issue with Time Warner Cable. Until I...

VPN - Only Some LAN reachable

I have an ASUS RT-AC68R I just setup the PPTP VPN server (I can try OpenVPN if you think that'll solve my issue). I set the Broadcast Support to "Both" just in case. Enabling the PPTP on my Android remotely, I'm able to reach my synology server (connected through ethernet) through the web...

    Connect to both bands simultaneously?

Oops I also wrote it wrong before. 1300 = 5 GHz ac 600 = 5 GHz n I incorrectly wrote that 600 = 2.4 GHz. Thanks for the bridge clarification by the way.

    Connect to both bands simultaneously?

Thanks for the answer guys, I figured as much, just wanted to verify. Technically a second rt-ac68u in Media Bridge mode would work upto 1900 though right (I thought I remember reading that somewhere)? Too expensive to be worth it for me though.

    Connect to both bands simultaneously?

This is a silly question, I'm sure, but how do I connect to both bands simultaneously to achieve the full (theoretical) 1900 Mbps? I have an rt-ac68r and a pce-ac68 on Windows 8.1 with Asus software installed. But it seems, like with every adapter, I have to choose between the 5 GHz network...

    NAT Loopback on rt-ac68u 3.0.0.4.374.371

I turned off and on port forwarding (each reboots the router) and also rebooted the NAS. One of these fixed the issue. Thank you!

    NAT Loopback on rt-ac68u 3.0.0.4.374.371

So the 3.0.0.4.374.371 firmware says it fixes NAT loopback thanks to Merlin's contribution. However, I'm still unable to get it to work. Is there a hidden setting I have to enable? I'd like to reach a NAS I have connected via LAN. I'm using a laptop on Wi-fi. Sometimes it'll connect to the...

    RT-AC68U -3.0.0.4.374.291 available!

Anyone else have the issue where you Check Version and you get "The router's current firmware is the latest version."? I'm on 205 and it's not seeing 291. I know I can update manually, I'd just like to know why 1-click updating doesn't work. Same issue happened with updating the out-of-box...

    rt-ac68u Horrible Connection

I don't want to speak too soon, but this may be SOLVED. To answer an above question, my 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz are named differently. Upon more research into the problem, I had 3 laptops sitting next to each other, all constantly pinging the router. At some point, each computer failed at pinging...

    rt-ac68u Horrible Connection

Thank you for your response. I'd say it's more than just a "new device" bug because I'm unable to access the internet or the router itself 25%+ of the time - despite it showing a good wireless connection. MAC clone is blank. As mentioned, I did set it already to 20 MHz. I also forced it to...

    rt-ac68u Horrible Connection

This morning, I thought my phone wasn't connecting either. Then I realized it's the WAN it wouldn't connect to, while it could still connect to the ASUS interface. A restart of the router from the interface fixed the WAN from the phone. The computer connection is intermittent still. Any ideas?

    rt-ac68u Horrible Connection

I disabled IPv6 on my laptop (it was getting a IPv4 + IPv6 address despite IPv6 being off in the router). It seemed to possibly help a little. But this is an example what I'm still dealing with. It could go on for a long time WITHOUT timing out ever, or it can timeout for a long time. When...

    rt-ac68u Horrible Connection

rt-ac68u Horrible Connection [SOLVED] Hi I bought an rt-ac68r from Best Buy and just set it up connected to a Motorola SB6141 modem. I set it up via lan/ethernet through my HP laptop running Windows 7. Connected to 192.168.1.1 / router.asus.com. The issue is that getting that page to load...

    RT-AC68U Slow USB 3.0 speeds

I don't want to get too far off topic, but... Amazon reviews mention signal degradation on the 5 GHz band that requires rebooting the router every few days to recover from. I think one of the reviewers said the ac66u still suffers from this? This is my only other concern regarding the ac68u...
