Inbound dhcp discovery requests on port 68

I don't know where the OP's data is seen. If it is a router log, then I don't understand how the router's WAN connection type would show this, since the broadcast would be showing on other devices outside of the router's network and interfaces (that is on devices upstream from the router). Or...

Inbound dhcp discovery requests on port 68

Can you explain a bit more? Is this on a CGNAT?

    Kavita port forwarding issues

Right, I was about to say try an external port higher or lower than the 5000-5100 range. But, you fixed that already :) Good work.

    Kavita port forwarding issues

Is your firewall on Nami blocking it? Can you access 192.168.1.14:5000 from a different device on your local network?

DNS server - order of access

You may not be doing anything wrong. It has been said on this forum that the resolvers are used in round-robin style. Thus there is not fallback logic.

    Asus BE88U China model

If you did not accept the TM agreement, then there must be a bug in your firmware ;) As soon as I toggle on Apps Analysis, I am prompted with the agreement.

DNS assignments - AT&T BGW320 gateway and TPLink Deco

But he is using it in passthru mode, so the Deco is not a normal client device, even if it does get a LAN IP address. Anyway, yep, same result. I'm not clear on what IP addresses he's referring to.

DNS assignments - AT&T BGW320 gateway and TPLink Deco

Got a picture to explain this? Be clear on what gateway address you are referring to. Your router is doing the DNS queries. You can use a DNS leak website to verify. If your network is small/simple and want to be for sure for sure, you can configure DNS servers on the devices.

    SSID password changes itself.

To be sure, you are clicking Apply before switching bands, right? There was a problem similar to this on the RT-AX86U Pro. I reported it and ASUS finally fixed it. After you switch bands, do a forced browser refresh (Shift + F5) and see if the correct value shows.

    OPNSense or BE88u?

@Some1 thanks for the input. What I don't get about the OPNsense hardware requirements is no mention of network ports. Don't you have to have a minimum of 2 ports (WAN and LAN)? It has to sit between the modem/gateway and the LAN, right? What device do you run it on?

How to setup my own internal domain names with ports numbers?

I set the host name on my Windows and Linux machines to what I want, no need to have the router manage those. Don't know how to set the name for the stinkin' Android devices. You can create your own internal domain via the LAN page, if you still need that: @ColinTaylor is there a way on...

Control D DNS and possible DNS-rebind attacks

Maybe back then. Now support seems to be Ai-driven as the first layer, no way to get direct contact to a human or ticket system. :(

Control D DNS and possible DNS-rebind attacks

I just started using Control D, and also I see the google of 'possible rebind attacks' msgs. (Quad 9 was giving me too many failures, so I'm trying other services.) Something from 2022 says that Control D free doesn't support rebind attacks ... Interesting info from Ctrl D, saying to turn off...
