Fortinet Fortigate 40F for our small business?

Depending on your use case, I don't think you'll have any issues with it. We just finished a POC with Fortigate. We're going to be replacing 3 datacenter and 7 remote branch offices with fortigate FW. The remote branches will get 40F while the datacenters will get 200F HA pair. The 40F is...

Any NAS that supports utilizing full capacity of different sized drives?

I use windows offline files to sync folders from various computers to my old home server. Hoping to do the same with a nas to minimize training everyone to do something different. I do want redundancy, as much as possible, Thus looking at RAID 6 support. I know DROBO can use full drive...

Any NAS that supports utilizing full capacity of different sized drives?

My trusty old home server (built from an old PC) died today after nearly 10 years of service. Looking to possibly replace it with a NAS box of some sort. I tried to look online for reviews but didn't find anything that answers this question: Are there any NAS that support using the full...

L2TP VPN Client with Pre Shared Key

I've been researching this topic for a while. From what I can tell, no wrt firmware (asus wrt, merlin, dd-wrt) support l2tp psk from the gui, but it can be configured manually through the shell. I haven't found a way to do it through the shell. So if you guys find any solution please share it.

1Gbps but can only achieved 290+Mbps on AC87U

Don't expect these consumer routers to be able to route at 1gbps. Your PC is likely a lot more powerful. Things like the firewall all add additional overhead for the relatively weak cpu in the router. We use $50k routers for 1gbps routing. You may be able to get 1gbps if you convert a pc...

L2TP Split tunneling on AC-66R with merlin?

Hi all, newbie here. I used to have a linksys E3000 running dd-wrt and had it setup to connect via L2TP to my work place vpn and do split tunneling (i.e. work traffic goes through tunnel, all other goes directly to internet). I'm trying to figure out if its possible to do the same on my new...

    RT-AC66U factory reset itself

Yes I've been having similar issue with mine. both on stock ASUS firmware, DD-WRT, and Merlin. I updated to 376.47 Merlin about two weeks ago and it hasn't done it since. It used to randomly reboot itself several times a day, and sometimes during the reboot it would either reset all...

RT-AC66R/U random hang and partial factory reset

Its positioned vertically on a open shelf. Room temp about 65 to 68 degrees F, according to the GUI the system 2.4g is 50 degrees C while 5g is 54 degrees C. Not sure if that is high or not. doesn't feel warm to the touch. If its failing hardware, that's kind of disappointing. Less than 1...

RT-AC66R/U random hang and partial factory reset

Hoping someone can help. I've got a RT-AC66R, been using it for about a year. Over the last 2 to 3 months, its been randomly hanging. When it hangs, I can still access the web GUI (192.168.1.1) and login to view/change settings. But I can't get any traffic through to the internet. If...
