    Voxel The Voxel donation thread

I just donated a few days ago to him with what was left over in my PayPal accound. If you're willing...

    R7800: hissing noise from adapter

I have the R7800 router a few days in my possession, but just today I noticed a hissing sound coming from its adapter while plugged in. It is not loud and you have to go close to it, like 15-20 centimeters, to hear it. Otherwise, the unit is operating normal Anyone has the same issue?

    Other router brands subforums?

Hi Tim :) We currently have only ASUS and NETGEAR having a dedicated subforum. Is there a reason for not adding TP-Link and Linksys? Considering these are pretty well known and big brands as well, I think it's only fair for them having their dedicated subforums. Thanks

Now I know why Netgear polices its forums

I was just over at Netgear's forum, which has a policy of approving posts before they are visible. I posted in the latest fw thread for the R7000 on how much I'm disappointed and how it forced me to load a competitor's fw (ASUS) in order to have a working router. Well, what I posted did not get...

    IPv6 address request log

Hello, I'm using IPv6 in stateful mode (DHCPv6) and whenever one of my computers requests an address or renews it, there is a log entry of that from dnsmasq-dhcp. Is there a way to disable that? I've disabled DHCPv4 logging but there's nothing for DHCPv6 so my logs get spammed with such messages

    IPv6 preferred & valid lifetime

Hi, Using latest stable Marlin release for the AC66U. I recently got native IPv6 from my ISP. The ISP offers dynamic IPv6 addresses and I've noticed two small issues 1) If I change anything on the IPv6 page, the router loses its IPv6 settings, including its IPv6 address. The only way to fix...

    Martian packets with Port Forwarding

Hi, Using latest stable Merlin FW for the AC66U. If I forward some ports (currently for torrent (7200:7204) and ssh (2222)), every now and then I get martian packets on the computer. Strange is that the computer thinks its own address is martian, as can be seen below from dmesg (this is a...

    TP-Link Archer C8

I enjoyed reading the review on the C8. I'm a big TP-Link fan and currently own the C7. I'm really surprised and disappointed that the C8 requires NAT boost to be disabled to use bandwidth control, among other things. From the review testing, NAT boost makes a huge difference in routing...
