Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.13 / 386.13_2 is now available for AC models

I’m sure I won’t be the only one sorry and frustrated that you’ve been diverted into having to justify your approach in 2 long, time-consuming posts, when you clearly have more pressing matters to deal with. Having said that, they were interesting and insightful.

    Fun with ChatGPT...

It included “robust”, so it’s passed the Turing test with flying colours.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.13 / 386.13_2 is now available for AC models

Wellcome to the forum. More than possible: there’s been the odd occasion when Merlin’s brought out a firmware update for my rock solid RT-AC68U, and I’ve put off installing it. And the very next day, for the first time in months, if not years, I’ve had to reboot the router. And my first...

    Announcement: 3006 progress report - it's a go

Indeed. I wonder how many of us would buy Asus routers were it not for Eric’s selfless devotion to this project. I do hope Asus realises this and appreciates the contribution he must make to its bottom line.

    Diversion Diversion 5.1.3 - the Router Ad-Blocker, May 09, 2024

👍👍👍👍👍. I need to widen my horizons concerning the other forums I visit. I think that those of us who’ve been around since, and fondly remember, AB Solution days, should get our own special T-shirt, or jacket.

uiDivStats uiDivStats development version compatible with Diversion 5.0

Reference the message on the Diversion UI stats page in the router, the error message shown below beginning with “If you are seeing this message” and ending with “menu options c 2” I believe the menu option should read “c 1” rather than “c 2”.

Question about Asus Merlin Router behind a firewalla?

I was expecting some sort of snake oil device, but a cursory search indicates otherwise. https://www.pcmag.com/reviews/firewalla A bit pricey?

Question about Asus Merlin Router behind a firewalla?

I too have never heard of a firewalla; I wondered if it was anything like a punka-walla, but for firewall duties.

    Diversion Diversion 5.1.3 - the Router Ad-Blocker, May 09, 2024

I’ll wait till I hear visortgw’s version of events before I book my trip to Lucerne. Only joking. I think that’s terrific, and I’m sure other members of this fraternity visiting Switzerland would arrange their trips to include a Diversion to Lucerne for a similar meet-up, especially as...

Diversion Diversion and Ubisoft Connect - how to find out what is the problematic block?

Oh, and don’t forget to turn logging off when you’ve finished. No point in using unnecessary resources.

Diversion Diversion and Ubisoft Connect - how to find out what is the problematic block?

“I guess I could use the log to see what is being blocked when I open the Ubisoft Connect software - if I knew how....” Welcome to the forum. Open AMTM and select Diversion (option 1) Then enable logging by option “l” (that is l for Lima or ‘ell for leather 😊) Then select f (for follow log)...

Skynet How to find out if a connected device tries to call any sites/google?

Lots of good questions! Did you go back after an hour or 2 and run the same stats command? I might be wrong but I’m not sure you’d see the answer instantly eg: https://www.snbforums.com/threads/skynet-log-file-keeps-resetting.75206/post-718348

Skynet How to find out if a connected device tries to call any sites/google?

If I ever looked into this it was so long ago that I’ve forgotten. However, until someone knowledgeable comes along, here are my thoughts. First, I’d unblock those devices, and I’d want to see how frequently/infrequently they connect. Or, to be more accurate, I’d want to get a feel for...

Skynet How to find out if a connected device tries to call any sites/google?

Welcome to the forum. Suppose you unblock those devices via the GUI and then instead block the devices from inside Skynet - Skynet > Settings (11) > Block IOT Devices (11). Then enable IOT Device Logging (12). Does that show you the (failed) attempts to connect?

What? The first time a reboot did the trick? 😁

    Diversion Pixelserv replacement

I’ve never seen that. Are you sure it’s not coming from a browser extension? Do you see it on all browsers?

To edit the deny list go into AMTM (via an SSH terminal) then 1 > el > 2, and note that “edits are not active until processed “.

Would any of this make my browsing more secure? (WAN DNS settings)

More info on Google’s announcement that RMerlin mentioned: https://techcrunch.com/2024/03/14/googles-safe-browsing-protection-in-chrome-goes-real-time/ “the average malicious site doesn’t exist for more than 10 minutes.”. Astonishing.

I’m sure I’ll just be one of many wishing you a lovely vacation and asking if you’ll post us the odd photo, as you did a few years back. Five, six years, was it?
