Asus TUF-AX3000 v2 new firmware please

This router is selling well and is a global model using the ubiquitous AsusWRT. The TUF-AX3000 v2 router: Has Broadcom BCM6756 CPU, which is a 1.7 GHz quad core and is being used in many router models. The CPU just launched a year ago. Supports USB 3.2. Has 2.5Gb Ethernet WAN. Supports 160...

Asus TUF-AX3000 v2 new firmware please

Gee zoo. The Asus TUF-AX3000 v2 is a well specced mid-range router with very new Broadcom chipset. Yet, no new firmware in more than 6 months. Would expect some updates from Asus on such a new product. Looks like MikroTik or GL.iNet in my future. Asus, you are losing your core audience by...

    GNUton fork discussions

Some of the issues are well thought through with lots of data, and some are not. That makes maintenance time consuming and labor intense.

    GNUton fork discussions

Some of the Gnuton routers supported are gaming routers, quite similar to what is supported directly by RMerlin. Others are DSL routers which are their own thing. With the 22525 code base hopefully that brings a more stable and easier to support base for the Gnuton fork.

    [ 388.2 alpha Build(s) ] Testing available build(s)

Will the Gnuton builds also be updated to the 22525 code base to align with the main?

TUF images with and without TUF UI

GNUton's Release: 388.1_0-gnuton0_beta3 states "NEW: TUF images with and without TUF UI". Running this build on my TUF-AX5400. Only saw 1 build posted. Is there a setting to toggle between TUF UI and classic Asus UI? Help us understand.

Does Auto Channel ever change the channel?

Running Gnuton firmware 388.1_0-gnuton0_beta3 on my TUF-AX5400, which is a good build. If I set the router to any of the 5GHz non-DFS channels (36, 40, 44, 48, 149, 153, 157, 161 and possibly 165) the router will stay on the channel that I select. Right now I am on channel 48 with setting...

Beta [FORK] [DSL] [TESTERS] GNUton's Alpha/Beta Merlin builds

OK. I can SSH into the router and check by command over a couple days with the 386 build and then do the same with the 388 build. Thanks for the heads up.

Beta [FORK] [DSL] [TESTERS] GNUton's Alpha/Beta Merlin builds

Ran the beta 388.1 on a TUF-AX5400 and went back after a couple weeks to the 386.07_2-gnuton1 build. Problems I experienced on 388.1 beta: a) buffering when streaming video: I confirmed (using Speedtest at the router) my ping times at around 25-27 ms and download speed at 460 Mbps...

    Beta [Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin for RT-AX58U_V2

Does the RT-AX58U V2 have a 2.5 Gbps WAN port? If yes, what chip is being used for the ethernet switch?

    Update asuswrt worth it ?

Absolutely right regarding the source code/GPL violation for XWRT. Those things can be hard to defend though due to differing regulations in countries. I appreciate you sharing the business perspective of this, which is pretty interesting.

    Update asuswrt worth it ?

Agree with you that AsusWRT is not 100% open source. While I am not endorsing XWRT-Vortex, are they violating any license if they for example include Trend Micro in their builds? Asus states "You also acknowledge and agree that ASUS is not responsible for neither the agreement between you...

    Update asuswrt worth it ?

In the early 2000s, HyperWRT, OpenWRT, and Tomato were all distributions mainly targeting the Linksys WRT54G series of WIFI routers. Most likely, the "WRT" in AsusWRT is a legacy designation from those old Linksys WRT54G routers in the early 2000s. As is done today, those distributions used...

Beta [FORK] [DSL] [TESTERS] GNUton's Alpha/Beta Merlin builds

Cool beans. Will run the router for a while and let's see where it lands. Thanks @GNUton for making these builds. You help many router and networking enthusiasts with your work!

Beta [FORK] [DSL] [TESTERS] GNUton's Alpha/Beta Merlin builds

On the TUF-AX5400, the speeds are correct on SpeedTest on the 388 build.

Beta [FORK] [DSL] [TESTERS] GNUton's Alpha/Beta Merlin builds

Running 388.1_0-gnuton0_alpha1 on TUF-AX5400. Memory usage goes from 52% to 56% in 1.5 days. Will run it a bit to see how the memory consumption goes. But as others have reported there certainly does appear to be a memory leak.
