    You can. SSH into the satellite node, verify that nvram get lan_hostname returns the current host name of your satellite node, in your case, ZenWiFi_XT8-C110. Then change the value of this variable by running nvram set lan_hostname=CoolName, finally nvram commit. Then reboot the satellite router.

    Used to be able to maintain a steady "Good" level 5GHz-2 connection to other XT8 nodes. Now it falls back 2.4GHz all the time dispite restarts, and the security camera connectes to it reports no connection a lot more often. Send the unit back for repair in ASUS's self-service repair service...

    "Poor man's optimization": ssh into the mesh node, and use wl deauthenticate to diconnect the main router.

    I suspect that as well. I created a swap file on an external storage. Now I'm waiting to see if this helps the router run longer, and if that swap file gets used up too.

    Yeah I'm having this exact issue. Router crashes a lot more often since the update. /var/lib/misc/dnsmasq.leases is in an tempfs. Maybe something keeps writing to it so it becomes full?

    I remember that my AX88U defaults to 192.168.50.1. My AX88U did not come with this manual. The default settings for SSIDs in this PDF are different from what is printed on the bottom of my AX88U. I think this might be a manual for an older ASUSWRT.

    An upstream router, maybe? Like a landlord's router. If OP's subnet is 192.168.50.0/24, he can still access a website hosted on 192.168.1.1 hosted on the WAN side.
