Poll - what is the oldest level of 2.4Ghz Wifi currently in use

I have a solitary Reolink camera mounted on the garage, which will occasionally revert to 802.11g. It only records when there's movement, uploads to network share, and switches back to 802.11n all on its own - so no real problem. Looking at its signal strength reporting, it sees 8 other...

Solved Cannot add network printer using ZenWiFi BD4

The problem with the DJST-555 here, was noticeable with my previous RT-AC86U router, and I recreated it on the GT-AX6000. With the other problems people were having with HP printers of that era, I would put money on it being more of a printer issue than a router one. I don't know if getting a...

Solved Cannot add network printer using ZenWiFi BD4

Okay, a different issue from the DJST-555. Once that is connected, to 2.4GHz you can use a web browser to get into it's set up pages - but this kind of issue was pretty common when these printers were released! Sorry I can't be of any more help!

Solved Cannot add network printer using ZenWiFi BD4

I’ve had a play with my own HP Desk-jet Smart-tank 555, which is from roughly the same era – an era when HP’s drivers and in some cases firmware were not the best! During my playing I managed to get the printer to roll over and play dead similarly to that described by our OP. The problem here...

Solved Cannot add network printer using ZenWiFi BD4

Getting some HP printers to work can be real dark arts stuff! The technique on the DJ8520 is: Turn off the power at the socket (or unplug the poser cable) Hold the "cancel", b/w copy, and power buttons down WHILE you Restore power to the printer, keeping the buttons down till it tells you it's...

Unbound After upgrading to firmware version 3006 that Unbound's hit rate has decreased?

I hate graphs with false baselines (unless I'm using them to persuade someone)! The overall change at around just 1% could just be down to what was being browsed in the dead if night- it's not a significant change!

Install asuscomm on new Asus RT-AX86U Pro

When you set up a DDNS you need a connection to the internet. DDNS will then create the records that will point your hostname to your WAN IP address. When that WAN address changes, it'll update the IP that the hostname points to. Provided you have access to the internet with a unique WAN IP...

    ASUS ExpertWiFi EBG15

Multiple EBA63s in a mesh would probably be a recipe for disaster (I'd want a better prime node unless I could couple everything using Ethernet). ExpertWiFi does not seem designed for enthusiasts/prosumers, it's more for small businesses. Ubiquity does a lot right, but in their home targeted...

PPPoE WAN Assign Manual DNS Setting Not Work

In part because you have 2 DNS servers, the priority of which is decided by the router, not the user! What are you thinking being able to set the priority will do for your connection?

    TV wifi connection help

Rather than connect your computer to the provided Ethernet cable, you could connect an access point or mesh system. You'd then set up your own Wi-Fi on this, and if you get the right one, still be able to connect a cable to your computer. Just be aware that your connection will be insecure...

Low Speed of USB 4G dongle on AC68U

Our routers tend to have pretty feeble CPUs. When they're being used in the normal manner, there is a great deal of hardware assistance taking place. When you start using a mobile dongle, I suspect that the CPU needs to be doing a great deal more work than normal, and just can't keep up...

Constant unwanted traffic to dns.msftncsi.com from RT-AC66U

    Slow and droping wifi 2.4ghz

I'm wondering what the info from System Log > Wireless Log would have looked like, and if that could have highlighted any issues. I had a single device that would occasionally fall back to 802.11g and when it did, it took the connection speeds of everything on the AP with it - unlike N, AC, or...

Traffic Analyzer-Statistics: database erased very frequently

Okay guys I'm confused! It's not something that I really bother with, but if you need/want it you can change the storage settings to a usb drive from the monitoring settings tab. *Only three days of data, I presume because of the Merlin update, and that I just let it sit in RAM.
