    Advice needed on new router!

Please do share which one you purchase! I'm still trying to decide if the GT-AX6000 still king? It's on sale for £230 (Approx. $293) it's lowest ever price down from £330 (Approx. $420) or am I better spending the extra and getting the RT-AX86U Pro or RT-AX88U Pro? 1.6Gbps download speed...

Issues after upgrading to 386.12_x AC88U

Thank you! I finally got around to doing this and starting again last week. However, now 2.5Ghz is dropping from smart home devices and 5.0GHz is now fine and doesn't drop (the opposite). I'm running 386.12.4. I've not made any customizations to anything in the Router GUI yet in regards to...

Issues after upgrading to 386.12_x AC88U

Hi, It's currently running 386.12_2 Merlin. However, I'm thinking of resetting it back to stock so all settings are defaults then re-installing Merlin starting fresh? But not sure which steps I should follow, WPS reset then? It's just Wi-Fi 5Ghz issue and WIRED issue (something on my router...

Issues after upgrading to 386.12_x AC88U

Looks like I'm not the only person having 5Ghz dropping out my devices stay connected for about an error then drop to mobile data/nothing but for me it's been ever since 386.9.0 firmware which makes me think mine is more my WiFi settings. Want the GT-AX6000 but no Black Friday drops this year...

ROG GT-AX6000 (UK Black Friday Price)

Here are my settings. It's a fresh start and factory reset and manually re-set the settings (I never restore a backup file or anything). Don't think I missed anything from L&LD's thread. But yes, I'm from the UK with Virgin Media Voom Gig1 (1200Mbps) like Shasarak but business not residential...

ROG GT-AX6000 (UK Black Friday Price)

I never expect to see much difference on portable devices really regardless. I was more hoping for better signal/range if anything. I'm using the WiFi settings that L&LD covered in a forum post a while back and used different software InSSIDer/WiFi Analyzer/etc to play around with channels...

ROG GT-AX6000 (UK Black Friday Price)

Sweet! It seems it's starting to get common here. Yep, PC is wired. CAT7. 900Mbps. I know this won't make it go faster or reduce latency. Just wanted to know if it's worth a refresh not so much an upgrade. The newer iPad and iPhone I have will make use of the Wi-Fi 6 though, no? Which the...

ROG GT-AX6000 (UK Black Friday Price)

Hi, Is the ROG Rapture Gaming Router WIFI6 GT-AX6000 still king? Looking to replace my AC88U. Getting a little slow and I've treated myself to some WiFi 6 enabled devices lately. I noticed it's on sale @ Very in the UK for £269.99 (Save £70) from £339.99. It's not dropped for many retailers...

Future predictions - which AX router will be supported longest?

I don't have QoS enabled since it's 1Gbps Down/Up I read it's not worth it. Did use QoS before but got advised on here to disable with my speed/plan? Is this incorrect? "At gigabit speeds, there's very little need for QOS for home networks" "Note: If you use a gigabit Internet connection (300...

Future predictions - which AX router will be supported longest?

I've been trying to buy the AX86U for nearly a solid year to upgrade my RT-AC88U. Feels like it's getting a little slow, lucky to pull 400Mbps but direct ISP router pulls min 850Mbps every test.. telling me it's my router! Always out of stock for months but now back but a tasty £250 regret...

Latency on ASUS AC88U? + BQM

I saw the RT-AX68S for £139.99 last night on sale on ASUS UK. It's now £209.99 (still less than it was 2 days ago) but when I researched 86S vs 86U the U seemed better(?) Yeah, unfortunately, Virgin Media's equipment cannot be bypassed or skipped you've to put it in Modem Mode. I assume this...

Latency on ASUS AC88U? + BQM

I've no TrendMicro services enabled this time I did use it previously but haven't since wiping and re-setting up the router on Gig1. CPU is showing 3% Core 1 / 2% core 2 idle and 27% core 1 - 15% core 2 while doing stuff/gaming (from network map tab of GUI). 167MB ram used / 345MB free 512 MB...

Latency on ASUS AC88U? + BQM

Perfect thanks! I normally always run them on a wired 10/100/1000 Intel PC CAT 7 when testing and reporting to VM with their own Hub 4 on router mode. I was in router mode for 6-7 weeks while they did troubleshooting in the end they fixed the cable outside and upgraded me to Gig1 at no extra...

Latency on ASUS AC88U? + BQM

Will do now! VM wanted regular speedtest results for a fault previously in a dispute regarding a repull when I was only getting 70Mbps out of 500Mbps. Will disable and review.

Latency on ASUS AC88U? + BQM

I've spdMerlin running every 30 minutes I think the default is every 12/42? Hasn't recorded below 860Mbps. Interesting! I didn't think of the hardware side. What about the AX86U? Sorry I'm not very good with tech parts - just words and numbers to me, ha!

Latency on ASUS AC88U? + BQM

Hi guys! When using my ASUS router with Virgin Media Gig1 (Hub 4) in modem mode I seem to get increased latency. This takes my in-game ping from 10-15ms to 60-120ms. Is there anyway to reduce this other than ditch my ASUS router? Speeds are okay 950-1103Mbps down. Everything is wired CAT 7...
