BE58U vs BE82U vs something else for AIMesh wifi-connected node?

Thanks for the info! When viewing the forums using my phone's browser I don't see the sig lines (just to explain why I missed it).

    Anyone have a RT-BE58U router?

I read elsewhere that AiMesh works better when the main router also has the best coverage (in addition to best processor & RAM) so I am giving up on the idea of getting a RT-BE58U.

BE58U vs BE82U vs something else for AIMesh wifi-connected node?

Thanks for the info. You mentioned they are both nodes -- what router are you using as the main/master then?

BE58U vs BE82U vs something else for AIMesh wifi-connected node?

Did you end up buying/trying the BE58U or BE82U? Both appear to have strong quad-core processors and seemingly a good amount of RAM -- so I'd be curious to hear how they worked for you.

    Anyone have a RT-BE58U router?

Does anyone here have a Asus RT-BE58U router? If so, I would like to know what kind of memory usage you are seeing with it. The last time I bought new Asus router that had twice the RAM of my existing Asus model, I didn't end up gaining any headroom in memory usage like I expected -- so that's...

Should I Upgrade from ASUS RT-AC68U to RT-BE58U?

@Arctic Ace Did you end up getting the RT-BE58U?

Opinions of a couple setup options

Just to circle back on this, I am getting good coverage with the AX86S+AC66U-B1 combo in AiMesh so no need to get the pair of ASUS ZenWiFi XD6 units for nodes (which is good because their price jumped from a $80 sale price back to $250). Honestly I could probably drop the AC66U-B1 node because...

repetitive disconnecting of a wireless client - Deauth_ind reason: Unspecified reason (1)

I tracked the offender down to a La Crosse weather station. I removed its power and my logs look better. I do see some other things doing the same type of things from time to time, but I think I am able to explain most away (and assume the remaining ones are iOS devices set to Private).

repetitive disconnecting of a wireless client - Deauth_ind reason: Unspecified reason (1)

Any news on this? I have seeing it all the time with a AX86S on the latest firmware - and before updating I did a factory reset of the router. I am running an AiMesh setup this time. I only looked at my logs because my wife's work PC disconnected in the middle of a meeting today. There is...

Advice on ZenWifi Nodes for use as Wired Backhaul AiMesh Nodes?

Thanks for the update! I would only be using them as wired nodes as well so thinking of picking up a couple for $80. In my setup my main router will be a RT-AX86S so not quite as good/powerful as what you used. Before I make the purchase though, I am going try my existing routers, AX86S and...

Opinions of a couple setup options

Wow, how in the world did you get it so cheap? Even used they go for considerably more than that! And thanks for chiming in with your experience with the AX86S.

Advice on ZenWifi Nodes for use as Wired Backhaul AiMesh Nodes?

Did you ever get those XD6 units? If so, how did they work out?

Opinions of a couple setup options

Or maybe I make my life easier and just pick up a pair of ASUS ZenWiFi XD6 units (for just $80) assuming I can make them both AiMesh APs with my AX86S as the main router. Thoughts? I believe this in an older Asus model, but I see now it just got a firmware update last month so perhaps it might...

Opinions of a couple setup options

@Tech9 Well darn...I had totally forgotten that I'd loose guest network when running LN1301s as APs. Sadly it appears that really does foil that plan! I have a really old Ubiquiti AP (that's only 2.4ghz); would there be a way to add it and make it a guest network that's effectively isolated...

Opinions of a couple setup options

@ColinTaylor Thank you for setting me straight -- I updated my original post. Evidently I found some bad info when I searched; I thought it didn't look right (didn't remember it having 6GHz) and meant to circle back after getting the specs on the other Asus but then forgot. @Tech9 Thanks for...

Opinions of a couple setup options

Option 1: ASUS RT-AX86S as my main router with an ASUS RT-AC1750 B1 (aka - RT-AC66U) setup to be AiMesh AP to help with coverage (and maybe take some of the workload off the main router). Options 2: ASUS RT-AX86S as my main router but with its wifi turned off and it be covered by a couple...

@sfx2000 So you recommended Orbi because you want to piss off iNcontrL's neighbor's?

Trying to buy a router/routers that will solve all my issues

Why don't you explain to everyone how it is different and why it is better.

    Extend wifi

I do value that (and it was part of the reason I went with the AX86S over the AX68U) but for me I just don't think the price difference is worth it. My old RT-AC1750 B1 (aka - RT-AC66U B1) with half the memory is running okay with only 93mb free -- I just need better wifi coverage. I don't do...

    Extend wifi

Is that a big jump from the previous FW version or has it just been getting incrementally worse with each release? If there was a big jump, I wonder if that is something Merlin FW could address/fix? Was it created by the move from the 386 series to 388 FW that created this issue perhaps? I am...
