Where is the cache of known MAC addresses stored?

Sorry if trivial question - could not find it with a few minutes of search. If I plug in a rare device that was offline for a while, DHCP will still assign the same IP address to it as last time - many reboots ago. It sort of seems this info has to be cached somewhere. Any idea?

FYI: AM 386.12 on AC86u - how to decrease # of random reboots

I was trying to fix random reboots on my AC86U with AM 386.12_4 that is running AiProtection and other proprietary features. Even daily auto-reboots would not help - the router could crash-reboot even after an hour or two in operation. Also, lots of issues like this were discussed in the...

Scribe /usr/bin/logger messages don't make it to the log file - intermittent issue

I am running Scribe with Entware. Sometimes my cron job messages don't make it to the "messages" file for stretches of time, then it's all fine again for a while. Here is an example of a cron job that I want to output to messages every 15 min: cru a temp "*/15 * * * * /jffs/scripts/temp_check...

AC68u fast blinking power light from time to time (nvram issue)

I have this flaky AC68u which from time to time totally forgets its NVRAM. Usually power light is blinking rapidly. I can usually restore the router after multiple attempts of pressing WPS button upon turning on. It'll come back up fully factory reset. But it'll forget again soon. I am using...

uiDivStats Lots of disk writes due to fully re-writing file ./entware/share/uiDivStats.d/csv/SQLQueryLog.htm

I was chasing pretty substantial disk writes when using amtm scripts (~2GB per 24 hours), and one of big writers is uiDivStats Basically, the entirety of file ./entware/share/uiDivStats.d/csv/SQLQueryLog.htm get re-written every minute or so. That's good 300kb, plus probably journaling on top...

    Router temperatures - 2023

Sadly, the prior thread just expired - 6 months inactivity limit ... https://www.snbforums.com/threads/router-temperatures.71123/ This is a great post - even if I am late to the party! I thought at first to stick a copper shim on the cpu in AC86u, but let's face it - it's not the cpu that...

amtm ext4 partition with journaling - 15 GB size, 1150 GB of writes in 20 months

As I was slightly re-partitioning my external AMTM drive (a very low end dram-less 240GB SSD hanging on a USB2/SATA ~10 inch adapter cable), I noticed something really interesting. In 20 months this partition with Entware and a 2 GB swap file had 1152 GB of disk writes. So this is about 2GB of...

Scribe A filter to drop kernel dcd tainted errors :

My AC86U router produces endless kernel dcd errors due to AiProtection features which pretty much pollute the system log and make it impossible to look at in a fairly efficient manner. See such a dcd error message below - it's huge for each error instance. So I put together a new quick & dirty...
