I wanted to start a topic on this article to say thank you for the great insight, especially on a topic where there is much confusion even among reviewers and editors writing about this technology.

A situation that wasn't raised in this article is this:

You have an RV such as a campervan / motorhome or trailer that is plugged in to the home's AC wiring to enable use of its interior lighting, AC outlets and the fridge. The setup may typically be one of these vehicles that is set up by the household to create extra living space or office space. Could a powerline network properly serve the purpose of extending your home network to that RV?

As long as there isn't a transformer between the RV and home, it should work. How well it works, I can't say.
