Despite less than 3% CPU usage, the gateway appears to be trying to thermally throttle and failing. Anyone know how to check temps via SSH?

Try this in ssh:

cat /sys/class/thermal/thermal_zone0/temp

Or this in browser (after you login to the GUI):

or click here (again, after you login to the GUI):

But I don't know if the web page works in 3.0.0.6 ExpertWiFi version of Asuswrt.

83C seems hot for doing nothing in a well ventilated, cool location.

Well... I'm surprised you still have this router. It's Asuswrt with makeup running on old hardware from around 2016.
