Hello kind people:

I'm feeling like an outdated dummy here so I need help tracking down a problem. I have contacted and paid for Panasonic support, no help and called Netflicks its passing buck syndrome now.

I now have a Asus 87U router with merlin 378.55 Firmware update...I know just enough to get myself into trouble but not enough. Previously with Netgear router and slower broadband ISP it connected fine. It had neither built in firewall and/or IPTV setup.

Panasonic Vieria firmware latest 1.30 for TV and has built in tests sequence and connection.
No. 1 Connection Ethernet OK
No 2 Acquire IP Address from Router OK
No.3 Check IP for Duplicates OK
No.4 Check Connection to Internet OK
No.5 Check Communication to EASY IPTV server X (or not)
reply: Communication to server failed 006

When I do the connection test it has 5 steps and goes through the above very fast. Each step says I have Internet connection so I'm sure my WiFi is connected. The last test is "connection to EASY IPTV server" which it cannot find and says "Communication to server failed 006".

Either it is my configuration or the built in firewall. Any hand-holding would be appreciated I'm stumped.

Win 7 64 Bit, 8 Gig on with LTE4 with rural carrier (not major) they furnished modem WITH router that I bypass. All web-surfing works, and have 4 access including my direct TV, Android Phone. All have no problems.

Thanks for help.

When you updated the firmware, did you (afterwards) do a full reset to factory defaults and then manually and minimally configure the router to secure it and connect to your ISP? (Do not use a backup cfg file after a reset to factory defaults, it will be like you did not do the reset).

Did you use new ssid's for both bands?

Did you reboot the router after making all your changes? Including a hard reboot (pull the power plug and wait for a minute or two before powering it up again)?

Is the new firmware version showing in the router's gui interface?

Do you remember the firmware that was installed before you did the upgrade?

I think I did not make myself clear the router and connecting are fine it is my remote WiFi connection to TV that is NOT finding the IPTV server all else is fine. Is IPTV only for incoming ISP connections or outgoing to ISP from TV connection is what I need to correct. Since I don't know the terms it's hard to explain. The Merlin firmware installed fine and correct or I couldn't use this now. Look at updated problem in post.
Thanks Sorry

Until, and unless you answer the questions above in my first post in this thread, I don't think I or anyone else can help. Just because some of the router's functions are working, doesn't mean it is all functional.

Hopefully someone else can help more.

I just do not see what this has to do with my problem...being TV firmware finding Easy IPTV server. If I'm not following it please explain why because I don't see this as being my problem. Re read initial post or explain to me please.

Your answer(s) are not very clear or helpful. But a search for your error shows the same fix as I have suggested already.

A reset of your router to factory defaults.

You don't have to understand what this has to do with your problem, and frankly, I don't either as I don't use routers in this way. But if you're not willing to try things for possible improvements, well...

I don't know why everyone is so terse and confused and considers it MY fault when right in the router and you login on IPTV server it says exactly this below....which is exactly how I have it then it gives different ISP profiles I'm not familiar with.

To watch IPTV, the WAN port must be connected to the Internet. Please go to WAN - Dual WAN to confirm that WAN port is assigned to primary WAN. HOW CAN I MAKE IT CLEARER??

Sorry, no one is considering this your fault. But you're forcing me to learn new things too. :)

Let's verify things in order. Are you connecting with a USB modem as your primary and only ISP connection?

No LAN output only 4g lte as I said

Okay, have you then tried setting the WAN / DUAL WAN option to USB?

And then tried the various ISP options on the settings page you show in post 8?
