Which model router?

Did you just flash to 380.57? If so, which version of firmware were you on prior to flashing? If not, did you alter anything, or was anything changed on your behalf, either at the ISP or the router?

And what's happening now?

five days ago i installed 380.58 alpha3 but udpxy for watching IPTV did not working and goes back to 380.57.....i did factory reset after flashing 380.57 and put settings and jffs from backup.....
router model is AC68U......is there a way to real hard reset the router and then i will manual step by step over setting.....

Hi,

Can I suggest, assuming you haven't read it - or even if you have - you read Merlin's advice on "hard reset" i.e. restoring to factory default settings (and manually reconfiguring afterwards). http://www.snbforums.com/threads/faq-nvram-and-factory-default-reset.22822/

And can I also suggest L&LD's advice at http://www.snbforums.com/threads/no...l-and-manual-configuration.27115/#post-205573

I find that even if you're familiar with these posts, it still pays dividends to re-read them every so often.

i think when i set https in webui then i lost connection once or twice a day.....at the moment i have http and didn`t disconnected yet since two days....is possible bug when is https enabled?

still have problem with disconnect once a day every day for 5 minutes....is possible to solved this:
Code:
Mar 6 14:18:24 pppd[515]: No response to 10 echo-requests
Mar 6 14:18:24 pppd[515]: Serial link appears to be disconnected.
Mar 6 14:18:24 pppd[515]: Connect time 1262.9 minutes.
i did factory reset many times and manual setup but still nothing better.....

i deleted everything from jffs and usb and did factory reset and manualy setup again....now will test without usb stick and jffs scripts....i googled for this pppd disconnecting and lot of people have same problem.....i will be very happy if @Merlin look inside the firmware code and check why some people have this problem....with version 380.57 and earlier i didn`t have this problem....

It's ISP-specific, so there's nothing I can do (assuming the problem really lies in rp-pppoe, which I highly doubt).

Is possible someone write a script that will reconnect when pppd connection terminated?

Won't help when the issue is with the modem or the ISP:

Code:
Mar 6 14:19:15 pppd[515]: Timeout waiting for PADO packets

Looks like your modem stopped responding for 2 minutes. Make sure it's not your modem that's crashing and rebooting itself.

today i test merlin firmwares, 378.56_2, 380.57, 380.59 and latest 380.60_alpha3 but i got pppd disconnection on all firmwares....i change ISP modem and nothing better....i googled for that kind errors, disconnection but do not get any solution...maybe just @RMerlin can made some changes in asus firmware code for pppoe connection?

Are you in the UK with a Hub 3.0 modem? If so, it's a known problem with the modem (you can search for the details).
no, i am from slovenia, telekom slovenia with innbox v60u modem.....

i think i found my problem for disconnecting.....ppp0 create connection everytime to eth0 but eth0 is for IPTV....
Code:
14:23:01 pppd[515]: Connected to 00:30:88:19:c3:bb via interface eth0
14:23:01 pppd[515]: Using interface ppp0
14:23:01 pppd[515]: Connect: ppp0 <--> eth0

i need to connect ppp0 < -- > ppp0
how to tell router to use this connection?

eth0 is the physical WAN port. ppp0 is a virtual interface on top of eth0, so this is perfectly normal.

@RMerlin; I found the cause of my problem.I can confirm it is a firewall. yesterday i disabled it and no more pppd disconnection....I recommend you that look a little in the firewall area in the next versions....:)

Got a RT-N66U, brandnew and fresh flashed out of the box with Firmware 380.58. Did have a DD-WRT before which worked flawlessly so I can safely say those problems do not come from the Modem.

I can confirm the same issues. According to other tips I've disabled UPnP which did not help. Do still have several disconnects over the day, only about 15sec but still annoying.

Will now try disabling the firewall, hope this helps!

in your case you get connection back...in my case i didn`t....so now with disabled firewall i don`t have pppd disconnection yet....
