vnStat [Release] vnStat-on-Merlin - UI, CLI and email - data use and data limit monitoring - R1 and R2

Here's a side contribution to dn-vnstat to be considered any time in future development..

[Bug] Incorrect styling of the "data usage warning" makes it wrap to a second line containing a dot only. See the first attachment, it's pointed out with a red arrow.

[Suggestion] Data usage allowance might be imposed on downloaded data only, which is true in my case. So, current allowance warnings mean nothing accurate to me, as they consider uploaded data into the allowance. An option to select which data exactly to be considered for allowance would be great! (Both / Download / Upload)

Kindly,

Thanks @dev_null
I've forked vnstat into OSR just now, we can handle the migration from here.

We may submit one final PR to your repo if that's okay with you (just to point users to OSR when we are ready.)
I did notice you have a number other branches outside of "main"; I just want to validate none of these additional branches are production ready or currently being worked on?

Most recent would be: de-vnull-icloud-patch-1 from last year

No none of those are active.

Can a mod please lock this thread now? I'm not sure who to "@" to draw attention to this request (tried Eric).

Thanks @dev_null . We weren't sure based on the readme notes mentioning the VoM_CLI branch.

@RMerlin or @thiggins can lock this thread, we can continue any discussion with a new thread for OSR repo.

The CLI version was pretty much the 0.01 version before Jack Yaz agreed to let me play with some of his graphical elements; I doubt anyone still uses it, but even if they do, they can download from my git. Jack subsequently provided significant contributions to the charting which really made dn-vnstat what it is today. The underlying vnStat program is maintained by @Vergo so that shouldn't be deprecated and with luck, the graphical programming Jack did will also endure. Getting a bit sad as I reflect on the development history...

AMTM-OSR will take good care of anything that comes up. Your more than welcome to continue to contribute there by submitting PRs (if you so choose.)

Thanks again for your time and your dedication to this project. We all truly appreciate it im sure. Best of luck @dev_null with your future projects.

All good to lock on my end.
