Just put RMerlin 380.61 on it. Running ok so far. Not that I had any trouble with my rt-ac68u.

This (by far). The Asus/RMerlin combo is very hard (impossible!) to beat. At this price, if you want the highest performance, longest expected use from the router and cheapest price (and they're all equally important to you), then there is nothing else to consider right now.
