Recommendations for dynamic DNS in 2025?

I've been using no-ip.com for a while with no issues. Last black friday I saw a discount on the price and I went for it, so as to not having to renew manually the name reservation as needed on free account. Greetings.

Which VPN Providers provide Wireguard config files

I faced recently this problem, as a result of being using @Martineau Wireguard Session Manager. I had several kernel crashes, with the correspondant awful log messages. In the end, I moved to router's own Wireguard client, with zero issues. I have HW acceleration enabled on my RT-AX86U, which...

Curious behaviour after opening ports with iptables - RTAX86U - Asus Wrt Merlin

As long as my home assistant mobile app can connect to my server, I'm more than satisfied and I have no intention of disabling rp filter, whatever it can be.

Curious behaviour after opening ports with iptables - RTAX86U - Asus Wrt Merlin

Certainly, that is my wireguard client's ip, it is showed by ipconfig command's output: juanantonio@RT-AX86U-6C38:/tmp/home/root# ifconfig wgc1 wgc1 Link encap:UNSPEC HWaddr 00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00 inet addr:10.151.13.172 P-t-P:10.151.13.172...

Curious behaviour after opening ports with iptables - RTAX86U - Asus Wrt Merlin

Well, I did as you suggested, but the output on syslog.log doesn't mean much for me, here it is: Dec 24 13:26:25 kernel: IPv4: martian source 10.151.13.172 from 193.176.87.164, on dev wgc1 Dec 24 13:26:25 kernel: IPv4: martian source 10.151.13.172 from 37.186.4.16, on dev wgc1 Dec 24 13:26:26...

Curious behaviour after opening ports with iptables - RTAX86U - Asus Wrt Merlin

Good afternooon everyone. I needed opening port 8123 on my RT-AX86U. I did in the way I already have more than a dozen open ports, which I learned from @ZebMcKayhan , (Thanks mate!). The thing is: The port shows as open on https://www.connected.app/port-checker, as seen on image: Also, the...

RT-AX86U - 2.4 Ghz Network is NOT working anymore (was working before)

Thanks for replying, @BadKarma . First of all, luckily my 2.4GHz is working again. In my case I had to disconnect my old USB pendrive which hosted Entware and all the stuff included in it. After disconnecting a two-fan accesory bought in AliExp...., and connecting it in some other USB port...

RT-AX86U - 2.4 Ghz Network is NOT working anymore (was working before)

Morning. Excuse me, but I cannot determine what was the solution to the issue. As I have been facing the same problem, let me ask you, please. Was removing the USB M.2 attached to to your router which brought to live again your 2.4GHz Wifi? Thanks.

How to route VPN clients through VPN local DNS address

Morning. You don't provide info about your firmware or model router. In my case, I solved the issue going to LAN -> DNS Director, and tweaking there my own preferred values. As you can see in my signature, I'm using Asus Wrt Merlin. Regards.

    WireGuard client with IPv6 enabled

Okay. First I deleted all my ip -6 rules (I had to add by device and not by prefix, only to get my Google Nest working). juanantonio@RT-AX86U-6C38:/tmp/home/root# ip -6 rule 0: from all lookup local 32766: from all lookup main juanantonio@RT-AX86U-6C38:/tmp/home/root# After running...

    WireGuard client with IPv6 enabled

Morning. I've tried, as you asked, the prefixlength rule, starting with 63, and continuing with 30, 15, 7, 3, 1 and 0, with the same result. At the moment I launch the command, my Firefox addon tell me that traffic is going through WAN. And this only change if I delete the rule. Greetings.

    WireGuard client with IPv6 enabled

ip -6 rule add from all lookup main suppress_prefixlength 0 prio 10000 This is the command I use for adding that rule and immediatly public IP change, so instead going out through wgc1, traffic is using ppp0 (WAN). The command: ip route flush cache Do nothing by itself. I am monitoring...

    WireGuard client with IPv6 enabled

Well, I'm testing the thing using different sites, but one of them is ip.me, which is giving me the public IP of my VPN supplier. Next thing I would like to do is routing wg server remote clients through this same wireguard client. Thanks a lot!
