    You can use dnsmasq to configure the client name and then empty out the custom_clients file from NVRAM. Just remember that after you add all your custom entries to the dnsmasq file you need to reboot the router so all your clients renew it IP and the new name will display in network map. Here...

    I noticed the nvram reported in GUI is different than when I check via CLI. Is that normal? GUI always report ~2KB higher.

    Another vote for reducing VPN client to 2. I see no benefits for more when the router is unstable. You wouldn't be able to use it anyway if you having stability issue.
