    Best PCIe Wifi 7 Adapter?

@hadesflames: +1 for the Herald BE, the gigabyte has 3x hardware versions with different M.2 cards used, so guaranteeing QCNCM is harder. TBE550E is adding all 3 bands for the 9300, but it’s only DBDC. It does support 320mhz channels on 6Ghz, which it looks like the Qualcomm doesn’t, but that...

    Release ASUS RT-AX86 Series (RT-AX86U/RT-AX86S) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388_24338 (2025/03/25)

@Tech9, I completely get it; I don't think it's worth the complications and I am not using it myself, but the way you said: "Your network is as secure as WPA2-Personal with extra complication on top." This to a reader would be understood to mean that there is no security benefit at all to using...

ASUS RT-BE92U BE9700 is now the most popular Asus router on pricerunner.dk.

Nice, thanks! (I should've caught that v8 as listed on Wikidevi doesn't include A7 as also listed on Wikidevi) So is it using A/B53 cores like the BCM4916, maybe configured with less L2 or something? (Beyond being a whole SoC) Glad they moved to v8 for the BE SoC's. If Wikidevi would ever send...

    Release ASUS RT-AX86 Series (RT-AX86U/RT-AX86S) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388_24338 (2025/03/25)

This is not true from what I understand, while network access is only as secure as WPA2, any device that is connected via WPA3 cannot have its traffic viewed by a device that has only broken WPA2. Yes it doesn't prevent rogue access like full WPA3, but if its data in the air waves from a WPA3...

ASUS RT-BE92U BE9700 is now the most popular Asus router on pricerunner.dk.

@Ice9: https://wikidevi.wi-cat.ru is an amazingly detailed resource that unfortunately just doesn't list every device, (the AX86U Pro and AX88U Pro are missing from their pages while they already have the BE86U and BE88U added). List of Broadcom SoCs: https://wikidevi.wi-cat.ru/Broadcom/SoC...

ASUS RT-BE92U BE9700 is now the most popular Asus router on pricerunner.dk.

@Poul Bak: The BE92U uses Arm A7 cores, which are +25% less performant than the A53 cores per MHz that all of the supported BE routers use and (Corrected by @RMerlin) it's clocked slower. Merlin did support the AX series with A7 cores SoCs knowing they were entry level, while the AXE7800, the...

    We have liftoff

@RMerlin: Woot! I hope it's been more fun than pain! Is the goal to have these on the same GPL as the BE routers, or will you be back to three branches of development? (Does ASUS have all 3006 AX & BE together in development is my question I guess)

Wifi 7 performance is more than just marketing...

@Poul Bak The BE92U is only 2x2 6ghz(& 5ghz), which a single BE200 or QCNCM865 can saturate. The best set-up going forward looks to be a Merlin supported BE router and a dedicated 6ghz AP. I've got a BE200 on the way for my Intel laptop and a QCNCM865 for my AMD computer. I'm luckily not in a...

    Time to replace my RT-AC88U

Me too, but idk why they ignore the AX86U Pro & AX88U Pro, while having both of their BE model pages built...

    Merlin upgrade long jump

@FTC: we never know when vulns are discovered like last year that can brick devices or allow remote control, please do not go so long without updating. Hopefully no one else on these forums is so far out of update, especially on supported hardware... many with EoL AC devices would love to have...

Different Speed Tests Results Between Routers AXE-16000 and GT-AX6000

I'm wondering if it's hardware, they use the same SoC, so the AXE1600 has to use the same ports for more PHYs. Are there only two things plugged into each for the test, modem and test PC?

Mom' made the house go wireless, so got rid of AX86u Pro and AC86, bought a ASUS RT-BE92U

As Tech9 mentioned, you did take a downgrade, don't get mad at him. Facts are just facts, you're replacing a quality 4x4 5ghz AX router for a 2x2 5ghz BE router. If the 5ghz didn't penetrate where you needed, then the 6ghz certainly won't, so those 2x2 streams are not helpful. There is a reason...

What next after rt ac68U ?

I'd not count on it being supported, its an entirely different SoC than the supported BE models, which all so far use the BCM4916 iirc. It also doesn't have the best stream arrangement, 3x3 on 2.4 and 2x2 on 5/6 bands. @kamil2233: If the AC86U has still served you well so far, an AX86U Pro...

RT-AC5300 showing devices as wired when wireless on clients list

If the wireless clients are connected to an AP that is wired to the router, they will show up as wired connections. I'm not sure if AIMesh changes this, but I do not think so.
