    ASUS RT-BE58U

I installed this router as a extension node and its boxed up for return today! First, if looks are accurate, this looks like a router for your bathroom, so you can use your apple watch in the bathtub or shower! Its that small, crappy and dinky looking. The job is to go thru the thin plywood on...

    ASUS RT-BE58U

Picked up for $139 on Amazon. Seemed a good price for my need to replace an older Asus 5300 in my 2 router mesh setup. No need for wifi 7. My devices all wifi 6 but future proofed. GT-AX6000 is the main router with its 2, 2.5 ports. One goes to the 10gb fibre modem and the other goes to the old...

    Advice on buying new router

Thats what i was starting to think. Difference in money is small. Its not like this class of router is in the $400-$700 range. Amazon prime days starting tomorrow and will be watching. If sale numbers are tiny, can always reuse rt5300 right now and wait for black thursday!

    Advice on buying new router

Well thanks for your advice. $100-$200 doesn’t mean very much to me as a savings and whatever second router I end up with will be lasting a long time so a little extra performance may be appreciated. If I wanted to save $$, could just reuse my old rt5300 or several older apple routers collecting...

    Advice on buying new router

The 2.5 is used for the wan connection to the fibre modem and second port will be used for attaching a second router for extending. Really only need the cheaper router with a single 2.5 port in the extension so my garage and master bedroom has excellent coverage for things like utube car repair...

    Advice on buying new router

Sorry, I have the GT version! Accidentally, left out the extra letters! As for 10gb routing, absolutely no need for this with my small home network in a big house, kids grown and gone! My wife and I each have a late model Mac, one Apple TV and two smart TV’s, one b&w printer! I’ll see what the...

Installed the asus TUF ax6000 easily and here’s what i’m getting within 20’ of the router! I got a small spool of Cat6 cable but its been too friggin hot to want to start running...

    Advice on buying new router

My isp provides it for $50 a month! Sonic.net is rhe cheapest and fastest ISP, offering full 10gbs on fibre in America. No need to ask what it’s needed for just enjoy as much of it as you can! Advice on buying new router

I’m looking at the ASUS ROG Rapture WiFi 6 AX Gaming Router (GT-AX6000) Dual 2.5G WAN/LAN $229 new at Amazon. Looks to be the most bang for the buck . Have to look more but assume I can use the 2nd 2.5gb port for an ethernet backhaul should I decide the wifi 6 range is not enough to my furthest...

    Advice on buying new router

Thanks for the info! Hi end routers would be nice but $400-$800 is way more than I can or want to spend on a new router! My old rt 5300 was in that price range but a customer gave it to me years ago and don’t have clients anymore to impress or be knowledgeable for! Retirement is a great thing...

    RT-AC86U -> RT-AX86U Pro Review

Unfortunately sonic was delayed and now waiting until July to go live. So have not bought anything yet! I think each amazon deal is unique. I’ve bought many open box items there that were like new and warranty was good. Usually depends if buyer registered it and many don’t. Anyway if asus tells...

    Buying advice ASUS RT-AX86U, RT-AX88U or RT-AXE7800

Thanks but not overpaying! My isp only offers their full bw for $50/month! Isn’t that refreshing and that’s been their policy for years. Meanwhile Att charges $82 here for 1gbs, $50 or $60 for 300mbs. Xfinity $93 for 1.2gb!
