I am on the latest firmware now for my BQ16 UK Model 2.4ghz 5gh 1 5ghz 2 and 6ghz Firmware 3.0.0.6.102_36909
I am still getting inconsistent WiFi speeds with this junk, Doesn't matter what band I use, I have noticed it mainly on both 5GHZ bands and the 6ghz band also, Doesn't seem to matter how close I am to the router it is still inconsistent, We don't have many wireless devices connected at home, Aprrox 10 but 99% of the time they're not even doing anything anyway, I am on a reliable Fibre to the premises 1gbit symmetrical broadband package which is perfectly fine when wired to my desktop PC I always get the max speed up and down but Wireless on this thing is just abysmal in my opinion, Link speeds are all over the place even in the same room about 6ft away from the router and WiFi speeds are also all over the place, One min it's full speed up and down next min it's half download speed and full upload speed and next min I get 3/4 of my bandwidth download and only 500mbit upload with nothing else doing anything on the network.
Why is this router so crap and why have Asus not sorted this out yet, They have had long enough to sort out all the issues with these things, I mean I have tested 2 other cheapo 1gb routers a Sagecom provided by my ISP supplier and WiFi speeds are always consistent and now with my new supplier a TP Link EX820V Dual band WiFi 6 cheapo router where my speeds are always maxed out up and down so why is this £550 router so crap? I am so fed up with it and can't even return it anymore because I am way past the return window, I won't be touching another Asus router going forward, My first Asus and my last.
Sorry for the rant but this is not what you expect when you pay this sort of dough for such a simple device that all other cheaper manufacturers seem to just work out of the box!
