TAILMON TAILMON v1.0.20 -July 27, 2024- WireGuard-based Tailscale Installer, Configurator and Monitor (Now available in AMTM!)

You should have chosen the option to use maurer's repo when you installed Entware.
Thank you very much Colin, are you able to clarify for myself and Nesalex and also for future reference, the steps (selections) needed to do this please? I had a quick look but it was not immediately apparent.

@Nesalex please see this post regarding amtm and the maurer repo. Apparently you only see the question (about referencing the maurer repo) on older routers, which is why I do not see it on my RT-AX88U install.

Please try to uninstall TM and entware and reinstall entware from amtm on your RT-AC68U looking very closely at the questions during that entware installation phase, specifically wrt the maurer repo.

Since Tailscale v1.82 (or maybe my GNP install?) I am getting a new Health Check error message as below, different from previous ones we could ignore.

I ran dmesg (output attached) if that helps?

Code:
# Health check:
# - could not add magicsock port rule v6: adding [-p udp --dport 53642 -j ACCEPT] in filter/ts-input: running [/usr/sbin/ip6tables -t filter -A ts-input -p udp --dport 53642 -j ACCEPT]: exit status 1: ip6tables: Invalid argument. Run `dmesg' for more information.

Sorry... not seeing that same error on my end with 1.82... :(

Sounds like an IPv6 error perhaps? I've got IPv6 disabled on my end.

NM Viktor, it might be related to some other issue I am having with setting up GNP etc. Message seems to have gone (for now) after a reboot, no biggie, still works.

It works. I removed TM, removed EP, and reset AMTM. Then, during installation, I selected MAURER REPO, and the rest of the installation proceeded as before. After the initial TM installation, I had version 1.6, and the update went smoothly, so now I'm on 1.82. Once again, a big thanks for your help.

Excellent, very pleased it worked out and thank you for being patient and trying it out.

Your screenshots are also very useful for folks (I’m not expecting many) in a similar situation.

Props to @ColinTaylor for pointing us all in the right direction with a minimum of fuss.

[EDIT] Maybe Viktor could add a wee note to the first post along the lines of:

Note:
Users of armv7sf-k2.6 based devices such as the RT-AC68U may require either (a) a modification to an existing entware install pointing to the backport repo of the @maurer repository or (b) a full reinstall of entware, selecting, at the prompt, to use the @maurer backports-mirror.

Refer attachment, the message from which you will only see if installing entware on an arm7sf-k2.6 device.
