Release ASUS ZenWiFi Pro ET12 Firmware version 3.0.0.6.102_36597 (2025/04/17)

I Upgraded from the 9006 beta to this, what a deception as all VLAN support was dropped, I tried to revert back to 9006, however, that does not work, most of the me is are not working, factory reset, downgrade to 3004 and back to 9006 same issues. Will Asus bring back support for Vlans on this router, if not I’ll have to switch to different system unfortunately.. ?
4856 is the only beta that will support VLANs. Asus dropped Vlans for the ET12/XT12 due to stability issues. Unless they figure them out (Which is very doubtful) they will not support Vlans. All of us have had to take the brunt of unkept promises from Asus on this. You should be able to downgrade though. You may be able to enable downgrading via ssh "nvram set DOWNGRADE_CHECK_PASS=1". I haven't tried it though. YMMV.

4856 is the one I downgraded to, however, the gui is not working properly, I’ll try the ssh suggestion (probably coming weekend…).

Are you saying it allowed you to downgrade but things are not working or it didn't allow you to downgrade? This command allows you to downgrade on newer versions to older. If it let you downgrade then you won't need this command. If you did downgrade, did you factory reset or do a dirty downgrade? Do you have a before upgrade copy of your config that your restored?

Downgrade first then factory reset, I’ll have to dig in my archive for a previous config…

It did allow the downgrade btw.

While the steps previously taken to unbind everything works better than before, I'm still struggling with devices connecting, but no record of them being online in the GUI. The internet connections also drops repeatedly throughout the day. It's odd. Anyone else?

Is scheduled reboot broken for anyone else as well? It just does not work for me. No matter the day/time.
It works for me, but the system instability immediately after makes scheduling the reboot a precarious ordeal. I've admittedly reduced the reboot schedule as a result.

I have 2 ET12's, both configured as AP's. One was coming from firmware 3.0.0.4_388_24610 that I factory reset, then created a guest network. After upgrading to 3.0.0.6.102_36597, I noticed that the guest network that was defined carried over to the latest firmware. The guest network has VLAN ID 52 assigned to it. I never assigned this VLAN ID anywhere whatsoever. I went ahead and upgraded the other ET12 to 3.0.0.6.102_36597 as well. This particular one didn't have a guest network. I went ahead and created a Kid's Network and noticed that no VLAN ID was assigned. I deleted this network and created a guest network identical to the 1st ET12. During the creation process, if I deselect the "Use same subnet as main network", no VLAN ID was assigned. But if I uncheck this setting, a VLAN ID 52 is assigned. No where in the UI that I can find to change this VLAN ID to some other value. I have both ET12's connected to a managed switch. When I tried connecting my phone to this guest network, I could not get an IP. I'm guessing because VLAN 52 isn't defined on my managed switch and OPNsense. I was successful in connecting an old AC68U as a media bridge to this guest network as long as I assign a static IP to the AC68U during the setup as a media bridge. Ethernet devices connected to the media bridge are getting DHCP addresses. I'm assuming that these devices aren't tagged with VLAN ID 52.

My ET 12 updated to this and now the ET-12 node in my room shows a yellow light on top instead of the usual white. Anybody else seeing this issue? Also, it seems like my ET 12 is artificially somehow limiting my upload speed as the speedtest from with the ASUS Gui shows 900 up / 900 down whereas when i run the speedtest from my computer which is connected via ethernet to the ET 12 node, it shows 900 down / 30 - 50 up. This was also happening pre new firmware upgrade. Anybody else having this problem as well?

Are you wireless backhaul or wired? Also are you running Adaptive QOS?

Wireless backhaul and my QOS is off.
What speeds do you get when you hard wire your computer into the aiMesh node? Are they similar? If you're using wireless backhaul over wifi 6e, how far are they way from each other? 6e hates too many walls and interference, and it doesn't travel as far. It would be interesting to see what your computer gets when hardwired. Also, are you able to hardwire the devices together and check results as well?

My computer is hardwire into the mesh node. I get the full download speed but the upload speed stays at 35 or so mbps. It's the same thing if I hardwire my computer into the main router node as well. The nodes themselves are almost on top of one another, router on 1st floor, node on 2nd. I cannot hardwire them unfortunately. There have been times where I randomly get the full upload and download speed but it doesn't stay forever for some reason.

Is it the same with all devices, such as phones, different computers, etc? How new is the cable that you are using to hard wire? What are your wifi connection speeds, as opposed to wired?

I have a AXE-16000 with 2 ET12's all on the latest firmware and wired backhaul. They are in AP-Mesh mode. I have a fortigate behind the AXE-16000 that assigns IP's on the main network and the guest VLAN through wired ports on the AXE-16000. The main and guest networks are working across all 3 units. Strangely though, I don't see a single device using the guest network in the GUI, it shows 0 devices, I have about 50. After about 24hours some of my smart light switches and plugs will stop responding until I reboot the router and ET12's. Always the same devices, even after factory resetting everything, it's odd. There must be support for using VLAN's too, just not creating them? Otherwise I don't think my setup would be working at all for the guest network?

I’m getting the yellow light on my node now as well - no other firmware has done this. 6ghz wireless backhaul just like before with “Great” signal in green (-61 dBm). It’s annoying.

I’m also limited with upload speed both wired directly to the router designated ET12 or wireless (iPhone) but get full down speed - this is also not new to this firmware update though. Around 998 down with 580 up. QOS also off.
