Release ASUS RT-AC68U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.51665

I really don't understand. Update the router to the latest firmware (over the air on manually), unplug it and put it in a drawer. If and when you ever need it, plug it in and update to the latest firmware at that time. BTW, I haven't had any issues with the latest firmware 3.0.0.4.386.51665...

Release ASUS RT-AC68U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.51665

I can confirm that if you turn off AI Protection, memory utilization drops to 41%. When AI Protection is On, it's about 67%. This appears to be normal behavior. I have not observed a memory leak as the percentage has not changed very much over the last week.

Release ASUS RT-AC68U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.51665

I'm not seeing any signs of a memory leak. Used memory is holding steady at 67%.

Release ASUS RT-AC68U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.51665

Thanks. I do have AI Protection On, which certainly uses more RAM.

Release ASUS RT-AC68U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.51665

I have two of these routers. Both have about 75 to 85 MB Free with a 7 day uptime. What were you getting on the previous firmware? I've forgotton. If different, perhaps the new firmware is better utilizing memory. Unused memory is wasted memory. 85MB Free of 256MB (67% utilization) doesn't...

Release ASUS RT-AC68U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.51665

Asus has been silent about the RT-AC1900U. They have not announced end of life but the support page says firmware no longer available. However, the RT-AC1900U will apparently flash the same firmware as the RT-AC68U and RT-AC1900 if done within the router administration firmware update menu...

    Trouble with network services filter...

This is what worked for me with an Asus RT-AC68U: Enter the ports only in the box to the far right (to the right of destination IP). Leave everything else blank. I tested with: portquiz.net

    RT-AC68U v4 Discontinued by Asus

I don't know. But a post in this thread stated that the newest firmware applies to the v4: https://www.snbforums.com/threads/asus-rt-ac68u-firmware-version-3-0-0-4-386-51255.83830/

    RT-AC68U v4 Discontinued by Asus

This v4 router is EOL but the firmware JUST got updated by Asus again anyway. But in general, I wouldn't use an EOL router that's not getting firmware updates for more than 1 year. Many people still do for many years. The risk is relatively low for home users, but it's there and increases as...

    RT-AC68U v4 Discontinued by Asus

Thanks. We have v3's - wonder where it is in that table... Interestingly Amazon is currently only selling v4...last year it was v3.

    RT-AC68U v4 Discontinued by Asus

Sorry, I just realized - did you say you work for Asus compiling the firmware? It would be awesome if they continue to support the RT-AC66U. :)

    RT-AC68U v4 Discontinued by Asus

I hope you're right. But I find it very odd that Asus discontinued the latest hw revision and kept the older ones which they will continue to support. Possible, but weird. I hope you're right as we have v3's. We won't know for sure until Asus either classifies the situation or puts up a new...

    RT-AC68U v4 Discontinued by Asus

I hope you're right, but the links you provided are not for the RT-AC68U. They are for the RT-AC66U and the RT-AC1900U.

    RT-AC68U v4 Discontinued by Asus

I believe it's obvious that there will be no further firmware updates for any RT-AC66U since they ALL used the same firmware, from the same download page and firmware revisions have never been mentioned. Some disagree. https://www.asus.com/supportonly/rt-ac68u/helpdesk_bios/ and...
