    SHA 256 Verification failure?

So, this worked to get the cksum. However, the SHA's don't match for the .zip file and the result?? Here is what I saw: C:\Users\h*****\Router Info\ASUS RT-AC5300>certutil -hashfile RT-AC5300_386.11_0.zip SHA256 SHA256 hash of RT-AC5300_386.11_0.zip...

    SHA 256 Verification failure?

While trying to check my download signatures in both CMD or Powershell in Win 11, I'm getting a failure that I can't pinpoint. Here is the command used and the returned result. Note that they are the same in both, and fail when used on the trx file itself or the zip file. Powershell- PS...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.11 is now available for AC models

As noted, I have work to do! None of these items are present when the router is rolled back to .10; and I guess that is what is messing with my head. I'm going to verify my .11 download, then reset to default with .10 installed, upload the new clean software, and reconfigure. I hope that gets...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.11 is now available for AC models

Thanks, Eric! I'll get it done, but I don't understand how things are fine in .10, but the upgrade triggers the errors? Any illumination on why?

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.11 is now available for AC models

Tried the stable 386.11 release with the same endlessly repeating log entries. After the install and reboot this evening, here is what is showing: May 21 23:42:23 kernel: gro disabled May 21 23:42:25 kernel: updateservice/1370: potentially unexpected fatal signal 4. May 21 23:42:25 kernel...

    [ 386.11alpha Build(s) ] Testing available build(s)

I used files matching the firmware version. As to rolling back to stock, that is beyond my experience with this router. It has never been stock...always Merlin!

    [ 386.11alpha Build(s) ] Testing available build(s)

So, finally rolled back the firmware to .10. Oddly, I was still getting these same repeating log entries!? Restored .cfg and .tar files that I save with each change of firmware edition. The endless log entries STOPPED. I hope that this will help Merlin understand what's going on with the alpha...

    [ 386.11alpha Build(s) ] Testing available build(s)

After all post upgrade protocols and multiple reboots of the router/modem combo, I still getting 1 of these each SECOND?? Apr 28 10:43:07 kernel: out_fd is a pipe Apr 28 10:43:07 kernel: out_fd is a pipe Apr 28 10:43:10 kernel: out_fd is a pipe Apr 28 10:43:10 kernel: out_fd is a pipe Apr 28...

    [ 386.11alpha Build(s) ] Testing available build(s)

Has anyone used NordVPN with the alpha yet? I'm thinking that dimunition in already fairly languid VPN speed might not be what I need... Did a dirty flash, and all seems in order except for this repeating log entry: "Apr 23 16:35:17 kernel: out_fd is a pipe" Just finished, so haven't checked...

Accessing cable modem admin screen outside LAN?

Yes, so many folks had inquired without any solution appearing, I wanted to offer it as needed... I didn't find this answer on our forum, but on an ASUS web forum. I was so tickled that I shared!

Accessing cable modem admin screen outside LAN?

It certainly was, but I was unable to find a solution for the lost LAN access to the modem address. This solution did work to finally solve the problem. I am able to access the modem again, and that is huge when trying to run down issues with my ISP provider-Comcast! If you know of a way to...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.9 is now available for AC models

So, here was some weirdness. Today, I suddenly saw my log flooded with 'dump console' messages and noted that wifi had failed in all bands. The single computer that is hardwired to the router continued to have internet access, but wifi was totally inop. A hard reset put things back right, but...
