    Asus AIMesh Guest network issues

I was having the same issue with clients not being able to connect to the guest networks on the AiMesh node. The main router is an AX89X and an AC86U as the node using an ethernet backhaul. I just set up AiMesh yesterday and thought it would be a breeze until I hit this snag. All FW is up to...

Release ASUS RT-AC68U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.51665

This happened to me but on an RT-AX89X. The solution I found was to change the URL to https://router_ip: port/Main_Login.asp then I consistently got the login page. It was eventually resolved with beta FW. It seems that using https://router_ip: port does not redirect to the correct URL. However...

    Beta Asus RT-AX89X_9.0.0.4_388_31185 Beta

This fixed the https login issue. It now redirects to https://router_ip: port/Main_Login.asp and prompts for authentication as expected. Earlier when I was testing, if you used https://router_ip: port/index.asp it redirected and forced you to login. Just not with https://router_ip: port. One...

    Beta Asus RT-AX89X_9.0.0.4_388_31185 Beta

Is this the one where https://router_ip: port bypasses authentication? I'll try it out later and see if it fixes that issue. Thanks again for passing this along.

Release ASUS RT-AC68U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.51665

I was going to suggest that earlier but it seemed you had a good handle on what needed to be done. I think this is a good alternative since you've already sunk so much time into trying to fix it. Good luck, keep us posted if this finally works out for the owner.

Release ASUS RT-AC68U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.51665

This worked like a charm. Thanks again.

Release ASUS RT-AC68U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.51665

Could it be a corrupt ROM? I'm assuming that's where the factory settings are kept but that's just a wild guess since the RAM is volatile.

Release ASUS RT-AC68U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.51665

I'm far from an expert on Asus routers as mine have been set it and forget it. But the GUI has limitations when you're troubleshooting. If you think he can handle instructions on using putty or terminal and setting SSH up, it might be your best bet to figure out what's going on. If not, I think...

Release ASUS RT-AC68U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.51665

This was what was happening to the AC68 except for much shorter intervals. Pings didn't stop but internet would drop and the GUI became unresponsive. After a reboot, does RAM in the GUI max out after a period of time, usually right up to the router locking up? I recall that while monitoring the...

Release ASUS RT-AC68U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.51665

Before I found out about the bad security file that Asus pushed out, I thought it was a hardware issue. I was seeing "No space left on device" in the logs even though it was showing 2% usage on that filesystem, IIRC. It was locking up every 10-15 minutes. So I didn't troubleshoot further and...

Release ASUS RT-AC68U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.51665

Perfect! This is exactly what I was hoping for. This router was a workhorse and I want to keep it as a spare in case the one running goes south. Thanks a lot for confirming there are no issues with doing this.

Release ASUS RT-AC68U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.51665

Thanks for the heads up. I'll keep this in mind. I haven't any issues with this router until the ASUS problems last week. I thought it was hardware related cause it's pretty old. So I replaced it with a newer router that I already bought but didn't have the time to set up. The new one did the...

Release ASUS RT-AC68U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.51665

I've replaced my AC68W and wanted to update the firmware to the latest one prior to putting it away as a backup router. Has anyone tried updating FW while the router is offline? I already downloaded the latest FW so it would be a manual update. I believe the only thing it would not be able to do...

    Beta Asus RT-AX89X_9.0.0.4_388_31185 Beta

After you posted yesterday, I tried it after updating to the latest FW, and I did get the reverse meters. I just tried again now and it's still reversed for me, but also no spinning around. Another weird behavior that's been happening in the previous and latest beta is that when I click on my...

RT-AX89X suddenly started using a lot more CPU and memory leak leads to lockup every ~10mins

Possibly. Not a big deal, but thanks for checking. I tried with 4 different browsers and could not get the firmware page to come up. When I click on BIOS & Firmware it always went to the blank page I posted above. I'm good for now so I'll just wait for that page to sort itself out. I'm sure I'll...

Yes. This is what comes up for me using search or a bookmark.

RT-AX89X suddenly started using a lot more CPU and memory leak leads to lockup every ~10mins

The AX89X firmware download page for the US is blank. One can hope it's being updated with a stable FW version.
