Solved Import an .ovpn file into RT-AX88U (Merlin 386.2.4) ...

I meant, the header says: So I guess the key should be pasted without the proceeding <tls-crypt> and the ending </tls-crypt>, so like -----BEGIN OpenVPN Static key V1----- .... a1198ef649f1c23861a2a19f2c6b27aa 5e43be761e0c71e9c2e8d33b75af289e .... -----END OpenVPN Static key V1-----

For those having stability issues on AImesh with wireless backhaul, downgrade to 384.13

Okay, then where do I find my AP uptime? As for the comment by OP regarding the 41994 ‘beta’ (which was recommended by ASUS to all users), a new release is out for the RT-AC86U since April 28th, 3.0.0.4.386.42643 (Which for the ones running hot contains a fix, among others, for the high CPU...

Solved Import an .ovpn file into RT-AX88U (Merlin 386.2.4) ...

I think the answer is in the text in the header of your first screenshot. Furthermore: doesn’t your VPN provider provide ready-made .ovpn config files? I can just download them from the website of my VPN provider, I’ve never had to ‘create’ my own .ovpn config file.

For those having stability issues on AImesh with wireless backhaul, downgrade to 384.13

and counting... Not a single disconnect with the setup in my signature on 386.2_4. As for SSH access to my AIMesh node (RT-AC68U): as soon as I enabled SSH and I pasted my SSH key on the Main Router (RT-AC86U) it was synced with the AIMesh node. I disabled access with username and password and...

ASUS router iOS firmware upgrade fails

As mentioned above, the ASUS Router app cannot be used to upgrade Asuswrt-Merlin, only stock firmware. And even then, I would strongly advise against it. Better safe than sorry. To my best knowledge: this used to be the case, yes, but is not longer valid as ASUS has introduced Instant Guard...

    CakeQOS CakeQoS-Merlin v2.0.0 alpha

As far as I’m aware the CPU will be automatically utilized as needed, this is the default setting and I don’t know any commands to change that behavior on our routers, like changing scaling governors on other Linux systems. As I have read earlier in this thread, Cake is single-threaded and will...

ASUS router iOS firmware upgrade fails

I don’t get what you’re trying to do. Are you trying to use the ASUS Router app? As far as I’m aware this cannot be used to upgrade Asuswrt-Merlin. You need to use the UI. It might be possible to save the firmware on your iDevice, but you want be able to do a SHA256 hash checksum before...

    CakeQOS CakeQoS-Merlin v2.0.0 alpha

Wired, every device in my household that has to stream (Smart TV, AppleTV's, set top box, PS4 Pro, cameras, my sons laptop) in one way or another is connected by ethernet. The only exception is my own laptop, which I barely use for streaming content. I usually watch Netflix 4K with the app from...

connmon connmon - Internet connection monitoring

Not sure whether your responding to my comment regarding connmon, but the reason I decided to temporary disable it (Exclude = Yes), is because every time it runs, your will be reset. As I wanted to gather some more data, I temporarily disabled it. I don't think it has any effect, as you...

    CakeQOS CakeQoS-Merlin v2.0.0 alpha

That's correct. I have made a screenshot of the stats this afternoon, disabled the Ack filtering on uploads for now and will monitor data usage. Once the data usage is the same, I'll take another screenhot for comparison. As for the lag, I haven't experienced anything yesterday evening (while...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.2 is now available

WiFi = closed source = out of RMerlins control, so regardless whether you're the only one or not, there's nothing we can do, besides suggesting that you make a fresh start following the guides by, for example, member L&LD: https://www.snbforums.com/members/l-ld.24423/#about (lots of useful...

    Router temperatures

Thanks! For a minute I was afraid that everyone would agree with my decisions, but as said, you're probably right. Glad at least one was willing to keep the balance ;)

    Router temperatures

Yeah, we considered that already but international shipping costs are a thingy and now they're starting to complain about chip shortages for the years to come. So for now, I guess we'll just have to settle for our RT-AC86U's, which is, besides its airflow design flaws and non-contact thermal...

    CakeQOS CakeQoS-Merlin v2.0.0 alpha

Thanks for your reply. How would I 'enable ACKS'? As mentioned before, I'm a total noob when it comes to QoS, so I don't have a clue what you mean. I've tried to read several Cake-related man pages, but they might as well be written in a foreign language, as I don't have sufficient knowledge on...

    CakeQOS CakeQoS-Merlin v2.0.0 alpha

Connmon is on, however I enabled "Exclude ping tests from QoS" because otherwise my stats were being reset al the time because QoS is stopped and restarted. I have, actually. A fixed speedtest server of another stable, reputable ISP. Haha, my eyes are a disaster, but my room is small and the...

Diversion It’s been a year since the last update. Is Diversion dead?

Nope. Just real life priorities from a volunteer who worked his a** off to the point where Diversion is now and still drops by daily to see if everything's well with his userbase. Thanks for your understanding.

    Router temperatures

After trying two different RT-AC68U/RT-AC86U USB fan kits from Amazon, which both were way too noisy, and as temperature started to rise to above 100°C, I have decided to purchase a Noctua NFP12-Redux 1300 120mm Fan, a Noctua NA-FC1 PWM Fan controller, a Navilock 12V/2A external power supply...

    CakeQOS CakeQoS-Merlin v2.0.0 alpha

Thank you for your reply. In spdMerlins history I see that latency and jitter increases during peak hours, but promised speeds are easily achieved. Even during watching Netflix, speed measurements exceeds 300 Mbit (mostly vary between 306-310 Mb/s.) At 90% of max (theoretical) bandwidth...
