Should I get the ASUS RT-AC86U or ASUS RT-AX86U

Welcome to the forums @agentsmith1! My 2 cts… The RT-AC86U is definitely still worth while and if you’re planning to create a mesh setup you’re better of with that one as you would like to use it in a mesh setup with your existing RT-AC68U. I have the same combination in an AIMesh setup and it...

RT-AC86U; unable to update from 386.2_0 to _2 or _4 (SOLVED)

Before you do the above, please check if you have the correct firmware for the correct router. You wouldn’t be the first trying to upgrade an AC router with AX firmware.

VPN Client: Is Merlin's kill switch killing too much ...

What do you mean by ? If you mean that your clients aren’t able to contact the outside world anymore, then this is by design. If you enable the kill switch, regardless of whether you disable the tunnel or the tunnel goes down, your clients will not have internet access anymore, until you...

    Router temperatures

Looking at the latest release in Asuswrt-Official and its changelog, which will be incorporated in a future Asuswrt-Merlin release, I expect that for those who still experience high temperatures, that they’re going to see a drop of 4 to 5°C once it is released. The temperatures you are reporting...

    Skynet New Release 7.2.5

https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2020-7746 Dates back to October, would expect Asus to have updated by now.

    Skynet New Release 7.2.5

Thanks for your kind reply, Mr. Yaz. i apologize for polluting this thread, but that wasn’t the impression you gave me when I read your earlier replies. FWIW: uninstalling, reboot, reinstalling spdMerlins seems to have fixed it, so it seems solved. But as I haven’t updated anything else than...

    Asus RT-AC3200 dual wan problemen

Trust me, you don't even want to learn Dutch. It's a horrific language for foreigners. Even the majority of the Dutch population has trouble writing their own language. Brrrrrr.

    Asus RT-AC3200 dual wan problemen

Short answer: having two routers on your network who both act like DHCP servers is asking for trouble. Disable the DHCP server on one of them.

    Skynet New Release 7.2.5

Thanks for the update, Dr. Griswald. I uninstalled spdMerlin, installed an available hotfix for conmon, rebooted, found out I lost my spdMerlin historical data, so will have to wait to see whether my graphs return to normal.

    Skynet New Release 7.2.5

It wasn't before or didn't you check? I haven't rebooted in a while and was hoping I wouldn't have to, but if a power cycle fixed it for you, I'm pulling the plug (only to put it back in, of course)...

    Skynet New Release 7.2.5

Correction: they're not OK. At least in my case. They might look okay at first glance, but something's wrong with the scale. See this example: min, max, average are of, the date below isn't as before for the 7 days view.

    Skynet New Release 7.2.5

I just found out that only the view for the "Last 24 hours" is messed up. The others are fine. Can someone verify, that make sure that I'm not actually losing my mind?
  14. Hazel

    Skynet New Release 7.2.5

In that case I'm wondering why only my graphs in spdMerlin are messed up. What should I do? Change view and revert to see if that fixes it? Reinstall spdMerlin?

Which Asus routers are the most stable? (i.e. like the 68u used to be)

You guys should really read from the beginning... http://www.snbforums.com/threads/which-asus-routers-are-the-most-stable-i-e-like-the-68u-used-to-be.72444/post-687916

    Skynet Outbound Blocks Question

It could definitely be a false positive (or a legit call home) but without the IP-address(es) there's nothing we can say for sure.

    Skynet New Release 7.2.5

I assume it is. Option 2 in amtm, option 10 after Skynet menu shows. I just ran firewall update (old habits, I guess)

scMerlin scMerlin v2 - Service and script control menu for AsusWRT-Merlin

So, something like this for example:

scMerlin scMerlin v2 - Service and script control menu for AsusWRT-Merlin

To me personally, it would look really cool if it was shown human readable in the UI, like on https://bradymholt.github.io/cron-expression-descriptor/ for example. If the output is the same as in a terminal I can just as easily fire up Putty and run cru l. But I do realise that would complicate...

Empty client list in Merlin RT-AC68U

This will explain it: https://www.snbforums.com/threads/faq-read-me-first-before-posting-a-question.47153/ No worries, I left my pitchfork and torches at home.
