AB-Solution - The Ad Blocking Solution

First off, AB Solution is awesome! Couple of issues I have run into 1)Linkedin.com gets blocked - can someone point me to clear instructions on how to white-list? I see on the interface there is an option but what I want to know is what I will need to get and how from Linked In. I guess I am...

VPN Client does not update DNS settings

I can't add to the above conversation but I was told i need to add to my .ovpn file the following: block-outside-dns Apparently this prevents a leak to the ISP?? Do I simply open up say Notepad, and add it? And how do I know that it took? When I do it seems to append it to the end even...

Tutorial How to Setup a VPN client including Policy Rules for PIA and other VPN providers 384.5 07.10.18

Thanks Doc. It seems you and me are are the only ones around here... For Roku, there are times I want to use it with Netflix on my regular ISP and other times I want to enforce the kill switch. Seems I can't have it both ways. I suppose I could set up two different VPN clients, one for each...

Tutorial How to Setup a VPN client including Policy Rules for PIA and other VPN providers 384.5 07.10.18

Hi, I am running Merlin 380.69 (was on 382.2 beta but had lots of issues). Yes, I did a factory reset after install, and I started from scratch. Now I am running into an issue with my Roku devices. I am doing what I think you would call Peer to Peer VPN (One Asus 68U(client) to another...

[Beta 382] Asuswrt-Merlin 382.2 Beta is now available

Yes, did that. I also had to reboot my modem. Modem first, then Router. Normally don't have to do that ever. Pic after Router Reboot Pic after Modem, then Router reboot. The Core1 and Core2 are like a seesaw, one goes up, other goes down. No traffic on network either which is accurate (16kb...

[Beta 382] Asuswrt-Merlin 382.2 Beta is now available

I have Wireless, AIP, but no QOS running. CPU's are maxed out, and RAM is up there. I think temperature might be up there too but I don't know what it should be. See pics.

[Beta 382] Asuswrt-Merlin 382.2 Beta is now available

I did a factory reset using the reset button. BTW, my issue is back (although don't think it ever went away). My LG phone occasionally gets full down/up speeds and other times gets less than 2mb. It is probably happening on my other phone. Today I also noticed that my devices are getting...

[Beta 382] Asuswrt-Merlin 382.2 Beta is now available

----------- Wireless -> Site Survey - there is no conflict with the use of many identical wireless channels ? What about your another WiFi clients ? The same problem with low bandwidth ? Try to enable/disable "bluetooth coexistence" and "reducing USB 3.0 interference" in wireless settings (at...

[Beta 382] Asuswrt-Merlin 382.2 Beta is now available

Using 382.2 Beta RT-AC68P Noticed that my down/up speeds on my LG phone (2016 model) are less than 2mb. (I get much higher speeds on LTE!) My other LG Phone (2017 model), Nexus tablet, IPad, computer are getting normal Comcast speeds. Rebooted all around, issue persists with LG phone(2016...

[Beta 382] Asuswrt-Merlin 382.2 Beta is now available

Check in Mozilla, type config:about, search for media.peerconnection.enabled if it says "FALSE" this could be causing it. Try switching it to "TRUE". I think I turned mine to "FALSE" because it was leaking my IP. As soon as I did that, I got the same thing, I could not log into the router...

[Beta 382] Asuswrt-Merlin 382.2 Beta is now available

Does 382 work RT-AC68P? Per Merlin's "Supported Devices" page it says it does. But, per the readme file in the .zip, it does not say if 68P works. I do see two posts on this thread where people appear to have uploaded 382 to their AC68P. Does anyone know for sure? thx

    OpenVPN performance of the RT-AC86U

Just tested them. I am getting 75mb down and 5mb up on both sides. Urgh. So if I understand this correctly, the only thing that is going to help me is if I can get a higher upload speed. Let me ask you this, I do a lot of connecting to other Asus 68 Routers. When I do this my Obi Voip phone...

    OpenVPN performance of the RT-AC86U

I am connecting from a AC68 to an AC68 using OpenVPN. Both sides are on comcast 100mb. I only get 5mb down /3 mb up. I am using firmware 3.0.0.4.380_7743. Am I getting all I can get? Would moving to the Merlin FW increase performance? And would moving to an the AC86 substantially increase...

    Is this VPN speed slow?

I use VPN client to connect one AC68 to another AC68 (different location). My speeds are 5mb down /3mb up. Using firmware 3.0.0.4.380_7743 Is there anyway to increase these numbers? Different router maybe? I am not an expert but have managed to figure out quite a bit on this site. thanks

ISP Private IP creates dual WAN IP conflict

When checking what the laptop was assigned should I be looking at ipconfig/all or the network adapter details? I actually did check the network adapters and I was given 10.119.64.1 when I was connected to the modem directly. I guess that suggests that the modem continues to assign me something...

ISP Private IP creates dual WAN IP conflict

When you connected the laptop to LAN1 on the modem, did the laptop pull the 187.254.151.156 IP? YES. MAC Clone: I hooked modem LAN 1 back to Asus WAN port. I went into the Asus and clicked MAC CLONE button. Interestingly the laptop MAC Address was already pre-filled in when I went to the...

ISP Private IP creates dual WAN IP conflict

Sorry, yes I hooked modem LAN1 directly to laptop, power cycled both, and got a similar IP 187.254.151.156. I am now back to LAN1 Modem to Asus WAN plug. I guess I should try that double NAT script. Not real familiar with how to install these scripts but it should be easy enough I would think...

ISP Private IP creates dual WAN IP conflict

The latest support guy said this to me minutes ago. It is translated from spanish. This person seems to know a bit more and never once told me to pay for a static IP address. He said the following: "In your router you need to configure with another ip to generate a subnet and has its ip wan"...
