    How? Nothing is done at reboot anymore. Did the upgrade update the init script correctly so the symlink creation is no longer there?

    I will just move the symlink creation to the install script instead of the init script. I’m sorry to hear that it caused you a lot of debug time and frustration. I couldn’t predict a symlink could break entware.

    NextDNS does not filter out those queries, and I see no reason why those queries would go to a different resolver.

    I think you are misinterpreting what use-hosts does. When on, it will use the content of the router’s etc/hosts to answer queries. This has nothing to do with LAN devices identification. Note that you can use Merlin's ability to rename hosts on your network. NextDNS will soon use this data...

    The one on the jffs partition should aurvive the reboot. It is the one nextdns log is greping.

    Because it's cross compiled from a x64 machine. I guess you tried power cycling the router?
