Unbound unbound_manager (Manager/Installer utility for unbound - Recursive DNS Server)

From my point of view DNS over VPN is perfectly working now. I get a new IP from my VPN provider not only once a week. So combined with the openvpn-event-trigger it works perfectly! Would it make sense that the openvpn-event-trigger is also integrated automatically in your manager? Just an idea...

Tested - and: BAAAAM - its working perfectly! thank you Martineau! Again! Directly solved!

Unbound unbound_manager (Manager/Installer utility for unbound - Recursive DNS Server)

My understanding is that unbound DNS over VPN does NOT use the DNS of the VPN provider. But it uses a configured VPN Client to communicate with the severs for performing recursive DNS within unbound. So ISP in not able to sniff this DNS traffic - lets say not that easy... I like the advantage of...

Unbound unbound_manager (Manager/Installer utility for unbound - Recursive DNS Server)

Same behavior at my end. I finally configured yesterday like proposed in post #1504. If VPN Clinet goes down, outgoing interface within outbound is triggered correctly, but when VPN Client goes up, triggering unbound "vpn 1" does not work. I still use vpn 1, not vpn 2 like mentioned by ugandy.

Unbound unbound_manager (Manager/Installer utility for unbound - Recursive DNS Server)

Started my VPN-Client several times to get new IP. Now the new IP was integrated each time into the unbound.config without any problems! Thank you for updating!

Unbound unbound_manager (Manager/Installer utility for unbound - Recursive DNS Server)

One question that currently occurred to my usage: I used the command "vpn 1" to use DNS over VPN. Installation worked fine. [✔] unbound requests via VPN Client (10.8.0.8) tunnel ENABLED 10.8.0.8 was also integrated into the config and everything went fine. Today the IP of my VPN was changed...

Unbound unbound_manager (Manager/Installer utility for unbound - Recursive DNS Server)

:) haha... this script makes it possible for people like me to use things like unbound and even add-on like Adblock and now DNS over VPN... very appreciated! I keep testing the VPN add-on, for sure! And thank you for your hints about the configuration regarding the changing IP.

Unbound unbound_manager (Manager/Installer utility for unbound - Recursive DNS Server)

Thank you for realizing this feature! Setting up is much easier by your script. And if the VPN-IP of tun1 changes (it sometimes doe...) , it is quite simple to correct within unbound. Perfect!

Unbound - Authoritative Recursive Caching DNS Server

Thanks a lot! - I am very happy having found this forum here and people helping that much - and in very short time! This stuff is new for me - but I got interested in all theses possibilities to improve security and speed - I was not aware of these things some weeks before... Thanks!

I only have this "old" MacBook Pro 2010 here - can this be the reason?!? Windows is not executing the dig command to show query time.

Unbound - Authoritative Recursive Caching DNS Server

I deactivated the VPN (told the IP 192.168.1.15 to choose WAN instead if VPN within the GUI). My real IP was shown in IP-leak test and DNS leak test. But I still get the same query time at about 95-100msec.

Unbound - Authoritative Recursive Caching DNS Server

It shows directly the Login-Screen of the router (http://router.asus.com/Main_Login.asp), so I assume the dnsmasq is working properly?
