Unbound - Authoritative Recursive Caching DNS Server

Thank you rgnido for you advice. I still don't understand how you came to this conclusion but I will try to dig in this direction. I plan to setup the router and all the installed stuff completely from Zero again. Just to avoid too much effort based on a bad configuration. Thanks again!

Yes you are right - I get the same results when I connect via wired LAN instead of WLAN. So the problem might be the Mac? Or is there anything that has to be changed in the router? I changed the following points like suggested - anything missing that can cause that offset of 100msec? [✔]...

Unbound - Authoritative Recursive Caching DNS Server

I am wondering if my unbound is working correct... Currently I am running Merlin 384.16 on an AC86U, Unbound Manager 3.02, unbound version 1.10.0., Router IP is 192.168.1.1, IP of my Mac is 192.168.1.15. Using Terminal-App on my Mac and typing the command "dig" I am not sure about a results: If...

    openvpn server and client question

I was searching for this possibility (Paththrough Routing Clients over VPN) since weeks, finally I found this thread. After reading the posts (several times...) it works now! Never been in contact with these scripts before... Thanks for the advices in this thread (especially Martineau)!

Unbound - Authoritative Recursive Caching DNS Server

Thank you rgnldo! Things getting clearer for me now. A lot of different possibilities, depends on the aim. These two options would make the VPN provider to resolve DNS and showing his IP in DNS-leak-test. First solution with caching using unbound, but configured as a forwarder, not...

Unbound - Authoritative Recursive Caching DNS Server

rgnldo, SomeWhereOverTheRainBow, dave14305 - thank you for your comments. As fas as I understood only a minority is using unbound over VPN. So I will consider if this setup is really necessary. The only advantage of this setup would be that this can potentially hide the traffic if ISP is...

Hey, this is my first post so I take the chance to say thank you to all of you that this forum exits! During the last weeks I have spent tons of hours reading interesting stuff here - my wife does not understand why I do so, but I learned a lot of things I really was not aware of before. So...
