New SurfShark VPN doesn't allow two VPN connections

Isn't the port number the port I'm connecting to? For instance the VPN servers I'm connecting to are listening on port 1194. So if I switch it to a different port the connection wouldn't succeed because the server isn't listening on that port.

New SurfShark VPN doesn't allow two VPN connections

Actually, I apologize. It isn't working at all. While they appear to be working, I just went to my smart TV to run a speed test, and it's showing the IP of the VPN Client that it's NOT supposed to be on. According to the policy rules I have set up, my Smart TV should be on the VPN tunnel with IP...

New SurfShark VPN doesn't allow two VPN connections

Maybe you could explain to me the difference in "Policy Rules" and "Policy Rules (Strict)" if you know the differences between the two? I don't see a reason that would interfere but I did have it set to strict previously, when it wasn't working. Now I have it on regular policy rules and it seems...

New SurfShark VPN doesn't allow two VPN connections

Here is the two SurfShark tunnels. Strangely enough, they appear to be working now. I tried for several hours earlier and they weren't working before. I had the Policy Rules set differently, but I will continue to monitor and tweak the settings to see if it stays working: tun11 Link...

New SurfShark VPN doesn't allow two VPN connections

Here is with the two VPN Unlimited Clients connected. You may be right!! Both the tun13 and tun14 show they are P-t-P! Also, I just noticed in this instance, both tunnels are using the same 10.200.0.22 ip. That is really weird. When I posted the screenshot of the two VPN Unlimited clients...

New SurfShark VPN doesn't allow two VPN connections

Both of the VPN Unlimited tunnels or both of the SurfShark tunnels? I just got a different support rep from SurfShark and he is now saying they only support one tunnel per router connection. Not sure how they would be able to enforce that on their end since the Merlin firmware has support for 5...

New SurfShark VPN doesn't allow two VPN connections

I had considered that and initially thought that might be an issue. But then I was convinced that it wouldn't be an issue since the VPN Unlimited configuration works and it does the same thing. You can see here in this screenshot, both tunnels are up for VPN Unlimited, both get different server...

New SurfShark VPN doesn't allow two VPN connections

Hi all. So for about 3 years now I have been using a VPN called VPN Unlimited. I got a lifetime subscription for like $30 on StackSocial one time. The performance is below what I'd like, but for $30 for lifetime subscription I can't complain. They only have one US-based server that allows...

VPN Client down and SmartTV is now a StupidTV

So I have my router set to reboot every morning at 5 am. This am my phone and my PC could not access Internet when connected to wifi. I logged into the router and checked the VPN client. It was on, the tunnel was up and I had an IP. Couldn't access the Internet though. But once I turned the VPN...

RT-AX88U - Slow WAN to LAN Speeds

No I am not I'm in the US. Sounds like I could connect a client directly to the ONT to run a speed test and see if I get 900 Mbps down. Bc I'm only getting 500 at the moment.

    Is Reboot Scheduler working?

I agree sometimes basic is best. It can get confusing and bogged down with how many scripts/custom code you are running. Makes diagnosing issues harder too.

RT-AX88U - Slow WAN to LAN Speeds

Yeah I have that but is it a modem? I have my router connected to it. But connecting a client directly to that could be dangerous from a security perspective. You could be opening a lot of services up to the Internet. But I would be willing to try!

RT-AX88U - Slow WAN to LAN Speeds

Oh yeah I wasn't expecting 900 Mbps over wifi it just never seems to be that fast lol. 900 over ethernet should be achievable but I'm stuck around the 500 mark. I'll wait and see if I get faster speeds over the next coupled days. It was just installed today. It's a little confusing because the...

RT-AX88U - Slow WAN to LAN Speeds

I was testing 5GHz and wired also. Do you think I should try and change the link rate and channel frequency? I have never looked into that. The AX88U should be able to handle 900 down over wired without messing with any of that, right? Also, do you think AiProtect offers any real benefit on top...

RT-AX88U - Slow WAN to LAN Speeds

I just ran a few tests with QoS disabled, and AiProtect Disabled and I'm getting maximum speeds of 450 Mb Down, 490 up, which is about half of the advertised speeds. Disabling QoS and AiProtect didn't make a difference, but I haven't hit that 650 Mbs threshold yet. I know there's a lot of...

RT-AX88U - Slow WAN to LAN Speeds

Thanks Merlin! Do you see a reason not to run QoS? Is it possible to get close to gig speeds with QoS enabled? I'm running FlexQoS right now.

RT-AX88U - Slow WAN to LAN Speeds

I'm using QoS to prioritize gaming traffic. Is there a downside to using it? I thought everyone that had the ASUS routers, especially with the Merlin firmware would be excited to use QoS. I think a majority of people run it. But I'm not sure if there's a good reason not to. I mainly need to...

RT-AX88U - Slow WAN to LAN Speeds

I'm trying to diagnose a similar problem. I just got Gig/Fiber Internet today and want to make sure I'm getting the best speeds and that none of my configurations are limiting the connection. I switched from about 350/Mbit down, 20/Mbit up, to 940 down, 880 up. I immediately noticed that my...

VPN Client down and SmartTV is now a StupidTV

Thanks for all your efforts in this! You don't have to re-write it if you don't want to. I can make copies and test it once I come to the conclusion that this is helping for Client 1. I have one client set to block routed clients if the tunnel goes down, and one that will still allow the...

VPN Client down and SmartTV is now a StupidTV

I see the syslog entries! I'll try it out and hopefully it works! My VPN client went down yesterday before I had this implemented but unfortunately on the vpn client page the status switch was switched to 'off' so I don't think this will turn it back on in that case. Could have been a fluke but...
