Release Asuswrt-Merlin 388.1 is now available for all supported Wifi 6 models

Question: I guess I never noticed before as I usually leave 'Firewall' at default values. in the UI, I see under 'Basic Config': 'Enable IPv4 inbound firewall rule' set to 'No' by default. Is this correct? Or does this only apply if I have set IPv4 Inbound rules? Thanks for the answer to...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 388.1 is now available for all supported Wifi 6 models

@Dedel66 : The page you show works well for me as well. I meant: if you look at the scMerlin page (if you have installed), the Temperatures are blank. BTW, it was the same in v.386.8. So it is probablky a scMerlin issue.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 388.1 is now available for all supported Wifi 6 models

I did a semi-dirty upgrade (uninstalled amtm scripts and unmounted USB) on my RT-AX88U from 386.8. Per my set-up, all has been running well for 24 hours (see signature). Only observation (probably a scMerlin issue) is the Temperature is not visible. Not a worry on my end, as I use either...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.8 is now available for specific models

So after 4 days, all is running well, including wireless where it seems to be the best performance since I have had this router (AX88U). However, there is a minor 'bug': For the scMerlin script: the Temperatures do not display when using the Browser UI (yes I have cleared cache, rebooted...

News Trend Micro: Cyclops Blink Sets Sights on Asus Routers

Thanks @RMerlin : Although I did not suspect any compromises, just to be sure I re-flashed 386.5, did a nuclear reset, manually reentered all my settings and did a couple reboots with a power cycle. Took a couple hours but I feel safer in doing so.

News Trend Micro: Cyclops Blink Sets Sights on Asus Routers

@RMerlin or any other Senior Staff: Kind of a NEWBE set of questions: I have 386.5 on my AX88u. my route was: new router--->386.45934 (stock) ---> full nuclear reset ----> merlin 386.4 ----> dirty flash to 386.5 beta1 ----> dirty flash to 386.5. I also have all ports closed, non-default...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.5 is now available

As fairly new member of this asus-merlin forum, one future enhancement could be : When selecting the file to use to flash, add a pop-up of sort like 'Are you sure you wish to apply this file for this upgrade ?'. As it is, it automatically starts the flash once you choose the file... scary...

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.5 Beta is now available

Colin, you are right. I did a search and found an old thread from 2020 where @RMerlin himself quoted as : "That's perfectly normal, and nothing new - bad block tables have been used since Asus switched to NAND, with the RT-AC66U back in 2012" So guess al is normal. Thanks.

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.5 Beta is now available

Colin, Unfortunately I cannot, or at least I do not remember seeing. If it helps, these were noticed after a reboot. Do you see this in your logs? Other than this, router is working very well.

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.5 Beta is now available

Last night when I could not sleep (one of those nights when your mind is racing), I decided to go through the logs. One thing I noticed is below. Are these normal or anything to worry about? May 5 01:05:03 kernel: Bad block table found at page 131008, version 0x01 May 5 01:05:03 kernel: Bad...

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.5 Beta is now available

Via a Dirty Upgrade, I installed 386.5_beta1 from 386.5_alpha2 without issue. It has been up around 4 hours and is running well per my setup (see signature). I'll update tomorrow if I see anything odd. Thanks/Merci @RMerlin

    386.5 Alpha1?

I did a dirty upgrade around 6 hours ago. For single router set up (no aimesh), all is working well so far. See my signature for my setup. The only critique that has always been there, seemingly: when you select a firmware .w file for upgrade, it automatically starts. It would be nice in...

    386.5 Alpha1?

I am planning on upgrading to alpha 2 this weekend. But before i do, i have 3 questions: 1. I know alphas are test versions. However are these full functioning? I assume yes. 2. Am i correct that when doing a dirty upgrade that I should unmount the usb and uninstall skynet ...do the...

How do I tell if my device is using wifi 6?

By coincidence, I do have a few burning questions, that perhaps someone can give some advice/feedback on: (see my closing for router and firmware) I have a 500 mbps connection, for my modest household. there are only a couple ax devices on my network. So questions are: Does using 160 Mhz for a...

    Cloudflare 1.1.1.1 for Families

Hi Folks. I know this thread is a bit old but it is the only one that seems to make sense for my question. I am on merlin 386.4 using cloudflare 1.1.1.2 via DOT. It and Merlin release rocks! However, I do notice several times per day : possible DNS-rebind attack detected: logs.ironsrc.mobi I...
