    Locate HDD via blinking Led

Thats not an option or I would have done that, it has to keep running as its been since 2017.

    Locate HDD via blinking Led

In 2017 I didn't give a sh*t about doing that for a system that only was suppose to last 3 years... 5 years on drives are starting to fail, one more to hot replace for another 5 years of runtime. And yes all drives are now marked :D

    Locate HDD via blinking Led

Yes but that still requires you to pull the drive and if its the wrong one your toast The s/n does not tell you which slot its in :p Pick one here: (hint: only one is the right one)

    Locate HDD via blinking Led

Hmm it must have been a controller feature to locate drives, anyway I'll keep searching and have pulled a drive (which was the one giving the error) and its rebuilding atm. with the new drive (WDxxEFAX-Red NAS drives).

    Locate HDD via blinking Led

I didn't look when it failed to see if the LED was red or indicated a problem, done a re-init of the drive and it started spinning again, after that I looked and saw the led blinking green next to its mirror but still don't know which is which. It'll be on good luck pulling one as a new one is...

    Locate HDD via blinking Led

I used to have this tool but can't find it anywhere, I am looking for a standalone tool (Windows) which can blink the LED of a harddrive in order to find it among a set of drives. I have a set of 4 and one has failed but can't see which one it is, before I pull out the wrong one :D

Here is what it looks like when this blur (pixel mingling) happens:

Video Blur - RDP Smart sizing blurry

This is a place holder, when using RDP smart sizing, on some systems, the font from the scaled RDP session may get blurry after a while. Most searches advice to disable Anti-aliasing (3d), however there are many systems where this option is not available and if it is, it is a system wide...

Win 10 fails to do a system image backup on a HDD connected to Netgear R7800 (Error 0x80070570)

Do you actually have a share named "Buffalo HDD\StoreFolder"? If you browse with File Explorer to \\192.168.1.1 what shares do you see, do those names match with what you expect?

Win 10 fails to do a system image backup on a HDD connected to Netgear R7800 (Error 0x80070570)

Yes or combine them all in one .cmd file and run it as admin.

Win 10 fails to do a system image backup on a HDD connected to Netgear R7800 (Error 0x80070570)

The issue is most likely due to the way it works (no real direct access to the storage) how a VHD is created and filled. For a NAS (or other share types) this usually works: wbadmin start backup -allcritical -backuptarget:\\IP_Of_NAS\Sharename\StoreFolder -include:C:\* -vsscopy -noVerify -quiet...

    Get WiFi signal into garage?

I'd simply run a CAT6 cable to a central point, an AP from there and offer guest access to others for $5/month. With installation costs you could be making money after a year :D

How do you protect your home network from online and local threats?

I have a sign on my frontdoor with the neighbors wifi passphrase, I never seem to have a problem

    Confused by subnetting

The cable modem is behind the router, the subnet+mask will inform the router what it can handle itself and if not to push it out the door (to the modem and beyond), I think (not verified) that 0.1 with a 252.0(/22) mask includes 100.1 and hence is not getting pushed out the door (and not...

Is considering creating an anti-malware program for Asuswrt-Merlin firmware

The point is, detection, no matter what kind, has become pointless a long time ago. The future has been and still is isolation/sandboxing. You should not care anymore what you click on or what gets run if that specific environment is isolated, a single killswitch when in doubt or when done will...

Is considering creating an anti-malware program for Asuswrt-Merlin firmware

The idea is good, the problem is we're trying to do everything on one device which is bad when one component fails or gets vulnerable your usually toast.

    Questions WAN 10GB Fiber connection

Then don't change the DNS at the perimeter but on your end either manually or via DNS forward, a DNS query is just another packet going out the door, no ISP is going to detect that (unless they actively capture such requests which is really not done). What is set as gateway for 192.168.2.3 ? and...

    Questions WAN 10GB Fiber connection

You have to manually select a server, if that works you could manually assign a DNS next to using DHCP on LAN interfaces. Traffic always goes to the gateway including DNS queries, you just have to force the DNS address as that seems to be an invalid address or it (DNS server) does not know how...
