RT-AC66U USB Application - NFS Exports - USB stick/SSD as NFS share

Checked on the router file system. There is no directory named backup in /mnt (empty) or /tmp/mnt (only sda1).

RT-AC66U USB Application - NFS Exports - USB stick/SSD as NFS share

Yes, in more detail that is what I have: Path: /mnt/backup Access list: IP address of Pi Options: rw,sync Tried again with /mnt/backup nfs mount.nfs: mounting 192.168.0.1:/mnt/backup failed, reason given by server: No such file or directory

RT-AC66U USB Application - NFS Exports - USB stick/SSD as NFS share

I've got NFS export enabled via the toggle switch. I cannot see any reference to NFS in the system log - is that normal? The main problem I have at the moment is connecting to the NFS ext3 USB stick on the router from a Raspberry Pi. My fstab is: 192.168.0.1:/tmp/mnt/backup /media/backup nfs...

    Upgrade options from RT-AC66U

Thanks again. My WAN speeds are around 65Mbps download. The Wifi performance issues mainly concern local file transfers (e.g. NAS to device and vice versa where I'm getting about 10-12 Mbps). I try to use Cat6 where possible and even string cables on some occasions when I'm moving lots of files.

    Upgrade options from RT-AC66U

Thanks, I was looking at the RT-AC86U. There are several product options, some slightly eccentric looking. Thinking about the AC2900 which has an extra USB port over the AC66U and the 4 gigabit LAN ports will suffice as I use a smarthub adjacent the router. Incidentally, I have about 30+...

    Upgrade options from RT-AC66U

What would be some good options for upgrade from an RT-AC66U? Current router is working OK but I'd like to boost wireless speeds if possible. Also, there are many devices now connected and whilst the router has been reliable (running Merlin) it's a single point of failure. I figure that the...

RT-AC66U USB Application - NFS Exports - USB stick/SSD as NFS share

If it is possible I want to use a USB stick in the router as a backup target from a Linux device since the NAS I would otherwise use is not always on. The backup job will not work with a Windows share and I cannot change anything on that side. The NFS Exports option states "Export directories...

Netgear GSS108E ILO/lights out, USB ports

I have a Netgear GSS108E which I've just purchased to replace an ancient GS605 that has been running since about 2005! Whilst the sales brochure claims that lights can be turned off for stealth operation the GSS108E has a Web interface with an option to turn off only the gigabit port LED's...

Problematic access to device on same subnet via two switches

OK, found the problem. Removed the drop cable from the port on the GS308P to check and re-seat it. I found a small piece of insulation debris from the loft space on the connector. Likely the debris was stopping the conductors from making a good connection. Thanks for your help.

Problematic access to device on same subnet via two switches

Thanks for your reply. I should make clear that there is only one camera and only one of each component. The configurations shown above are two alternatives using the same components. The GS308P is POE (camera is connected to POE) and the GS208 is gigabit only (no POE). It seems that...

Problematic access to device on same subnet via two switches

I have a wired LAN with an IP camera and I'm having problems in accessing the camera (cannot ping it) in the planned network. This (temporary) configuration works: Camera (POE) - Cat6 - Netgear GS308P - Cat6 - Laptop The camera has a fixed IP on a 192.168.0.1 subnet. Using the laptop I can...

Slow wireless transfer on Asus router (HP Microserver NAS)

For the above wireless test I'm using an ASUS PCE-AC68 802.11ac. On the main WAN (fibre Internet) link: Wired Ping 10ms, Download 68.69 Mbps, Upload 16.82 Mbps Wireless Ping 12ms, Download 66.96 Mbps, Upload 16.74 Mbps Other devices do not have AC adapters (e.g. built in adapters on...

Thanks for the helpful replies. Not sure how to move this to Asus Wireless - could someone help with that?

Slow wireless transfer on Asus router (HP Microserver NAS)

That is a good question. The report above is for the wireless connection The wired connection is giving around 891 MBytes/sec. It is the wireless performance I would like to improve since all NAS clients are using wireless. The router is running Merlin 380.70.
