    Now I'm wondering if I've been doing it wrong as well. I've always updated the firmware, reboot, and then do a factory default/reset, reboot again, and then manually set everything up again.

    Thank you for your updates! I have been putting off updating my AC3100 to 384.5 due to having issues in the past with this problem. Hopefully things will be different this time around.

    AC-3100 here, I came across this same issue running previous versions of the 384 firmware. Haven't tried any builds in the past month or two, but everything runs rock solid on the older 380 firmware. Glad to see I'm not alone in this problem. Same issue though - after a few hours, the 2.4 band...
