Vulnerable outdated jQuery used in 386.7_2 (current latest version)

No code is bulletproof, and in an ideal world we'd pentest everything and patch it, but I believe your approach is the best one keep keep a healthy long-term open relationship with Asus. Keeping things casual and professional. I still wish upstream partners would F(L)OSS their code so projects...

How do you enable in the Asuswrt firmware so that local devices can run host/nslookup on a local IP and get its hostname that the router has recorded?

Thanks for sharing. IIRC it's the default on asus routers. Nobody taught me this in IT education, it just felt easier to remember among the myriad of ever-changing names for things. Cloud meant the fluffy things up in the sky once upon a time, etc. LAN works, but when you forget acronyms over...

How do you enable in the Asuswrt firmware so that local devices can run host/nslookup on a local IP and get its hostname that the router has recorded?

I use ".local" It seems to be some limitation Android devices (with Termux) don't work as well as a Debian based Raspberry Pi OS (and other Desktop OS's) handle. Thanks, everyone, I enjoy asking questions and learning new things. Linux/cross-platform stuff is a wiiiide landscape of knowledge by...

How do you enable in the Asuswrt firmware so that local devices can run host/nslookup on a local IP and get its hostname that the router has recorded?

    I only get this output: $ nslookup 10.0.0.1 ** server can't find 1.0.0.10.in-addr.arpa: NXDOMAIN

How do you enable in the Asuswrt firmware so that local devices can run host/nslookup on a local IP and get its hostname that the router has recorded?

Hostname decided by router's DHCP table or one decided by the respective devices own settings, however it works. I can ping Samsung-S22(with and without .local) for example, and get it's IP adress back, but I wish to also get the same DNS name from "pinging" 10.0.0.67, (with whatever commands...

Entware Looking for a minimal desktop environment to install via Entware to connect and use over VNC.

Something like FSlint or Czkawka (the first Linux GUI software I found online.)

Entware Looking for a minimal desktop environment to install via Entware to connect and use over VNC.

The idea is to use a locally installed desktop environment over VNC, (only booted when I need it) so I can run simple GUI software for deduplication and archiving files that require advanced settings too annoying to use man pages and CLI options for every time. This way the router's CPU does all...

Are there any Asuswrt-Merlin solutions for self-hosting your password manager Vault on the router hardware?

Would someone like Richard Stallman approve it if it's run on a Raspberry Pi with F(L)OSS software?

Are there any Asuswrt-Merlin solutions for self-hosting your password manager Vault on the router hardware?

Or how do you yourselves self-host without going all hardcore server rack or stationary power hungry PC server setup with Docker containers for everything etc?

How would you troubleshoot and solve this problem?

Wait... Is there any problems running Asus Download Master together with Entware? Why would they collide?

How would you troubleshoot and solve this problem?

To my knowledge, if it were dead it wouldn't mount in the first place.

How would you troubleshoot and solve this problem?

It does, the drive is mounted, ls/nano etc can find it. It used to work fine.

Solved Issue with ejecting USB drive with entware installed.

Getting the following error in syslog when trying to eject the entware drive: Oct 3 00:33:36 ejusb: USB partition unmounted from /tmp/mnt/entware-usb fail. (return -1, Device or resource busy) What is the cause? Can provide syslogs. 2. After a reboot "sh" can't find fish and other entware...

router.asus.com not working on Firefox anymore?

Firefox 105.x on Android for me hasn't fixed the problem. I use Firefox Nightly 106.x and the problem is also still there.

Solved Can't run installed entware binaries anymore.

I found the problem and solved it. I had to move up a command in the file "/jffs/scripts/post-mount" so it runs in the right order during boot. File has to begin with #!/bin/sh . /jffs/addons/diversion/mount-entware.div # Added by amtm followed by any other commands you want to run.

    AX86U - Locked out after Asuswrt-Merlin 386.7_2 Upgrade

Try a different browser too. Otherwise, I'd unplug any entware USB drives and other HDD devices and hit the reset button and set up everything again and learn from the mistakes and document every change you make from there, or at least take backups of the router config more often so you lose...

router.asus.com not working on Firefox anymore?

Tried Firefox for Android 105.1.0 and http://router.asus.com:80 still just redirects to https:// standard port and thus is unusable. Try to keep it on 103.2 or below (Google Play Store auto updates are frustrating to turn off though since I'm installing an older version from apkmirror's website.
