Out of Memory Errors 388.1 / No space left on device [SOLUTIONS]

UPDATED FIRST POST Since this turned into a bunch of solutions for various problems, I decided to update the FIRST post with links to all the scripts posted to help solve the issues. Hopefully this will save some people from reading through 7 pages of posts!

Out of Memory Errors 388.1 / No space left on device [SOLUTIONS]

So I have been wanting to figure something out to monitor the RAM/CPU for a while and this was more motivation. I had tried Netdata before but it was just too intense for the router, and complicated to setup. It does have the advantage of being standalone (you don't need any other systems to...

Its an addon-script "scmerlin", seems to be pretty light weight and has some handy stuff on it. I just went through and removed all the add on scripts I dont need and this was one I kept.

Out of Memory Errors 388.1 / No space left on device [SOLUTIONS]

Cool. hopefully they will also fix the networkmap process from slowly eating all the ram until the router crashes. That's really what this has turned into, how to manage this until Asus fixes it. I could downgrade but it seems to work fine for me besides the networkmap issue which is easily...

Out of Memory Errors 388.1 / No space left on device [SOLUTIONS]

The errors you posted earlier about the lock files for networkmap would happen for anyone, its a bug in the firmware. Probably an insignificant bug at that. Your Adguard install is using significantly more memory than anything else. If you want to try my script to kill networkmap nightly go for...

Out of Memory Errors 388.1 / No space left on device [SOLUTIONS]

How large are your all wifi_detect.db files getting? Currently mine is at around 2Mb after 4 days of uptime with no pruning, I see a screenshot of one above that is 4Mb. This really is nothing... My /tmp is still only at 3% capacity. I also do not have a stainfo.db file which I see someone...

Out of Memory Errors 388.1 / No space left on device [SOLUTIONS]

That is a symptom of running out of free RAM, so its possible. Check the logs after rebooting and look back from right before it rebooted to look for errors about memory or free space, etc...

    force 2.4 operate mode

No, I see that now. Where it says "Bandwidth Limiter OF Guest Network" I thought that was an OR when I read it before.

    force 2.4 operate mode

Hmm, I have two guest networks setup and Runner and Flow Cache are working

Yes /tmp gets cleared and rebuilt when you reboot, so that is expected. After tmp starts growing you could run this command to try and track down what folder/file is the problem. Yours seems to be much worse than mine, my /tmp is not growing very fast. cd /tmp du -hx -d 1 OR du -hx -d 1 /tmp

Out of Memory Errors 388.1 / No space left on device [SOLUTIONS]

There are reports of the networkmap mem issues happening even after a full reset. I may try and do this eventually anyway for good measure, just need to make sure I backup at least the custom device names and static IP lists. I know there are posts about it already on what to backup. Thinking...

Out of Memory Errors 388.1 / No space left on device [SOLUTIONS]

Had PC issues today finally was able to go back and get screenshots of the logs. EDIT: Just realized connmon was a custom app/script, so going to just disable that for now. Looks like this watching / BONDING stuff was the start of the nasty stuff Going back a while it seems to start around...

Out of Memory Errors 388.1 / No space left on device [SOLUTIONS]

Well this was working well, internet was a little flaky this AM and found the web UI totally locked up and could SHH log in but not run anything. After a few log ins I got this: Wifi is still working, just can tell its not 100% well. Going to pull power and reboot, see if anything is in the logs.

DNS Director :: Add more custom options

Family of 4 here, 40-50 devices connected at all times. Use a single AdGuard Home server for blocking and have it set as the DNS in DHCP + DNS Director as backup if anything tries to be sneaky. AdGuard uses DoT servers for upstream resolution. Works great.

Out of Memory Errors 388.1 / No space left on device [SOLUTIONS]

I have thought about reverting but it seems to be working pretty good now. I have not noticed any actual device issues, my laptop never gets disconnected for example. There is just something goofy with the Alexa devices and I am not sure if they even really get disconnected or just Amazon thinks...

Out of Memory Errors 388.1 / No space left on device [SOLUTIONS]

So far so good with killing networkmap every night. Have also noticed my devices (especially Alexa) have been dropping off the network a lot less. I may bump it up to killing it twice a day and see if that further helps the Alexa devices from dropping off. I know the Alexa devices are dropping...

    Correct Permissions for Config Files?

The user should be your admin user which is basically root, but renamed to be your admin login username. The permissions on all my /config/ files is 666 -rw-rw-rw- Stuff in /scripts/ that gets executed is all set to 755 -rwxr-xr-x

    [ 388.2 alpha Build(s) ] Testing available build(s)

Looks like probably no changes to networkmap here since no new GPL merges? So this wont fix the networkmap memory issue I (and others) have been having? If there is a chance it would help I would be willing to try it, otherwise I typically wait for Beta.

Out of Memory Errors 388.1 / No space left on device [SOLUTIONS]

I don't know how you pull that off, 2 minutes after I boot my AX68U I am at only 30Mb free RAM out of 512Kb, same RAM specs as your AX58U. I do have a bunch of static DHCP reservations and custom names and icons for all 50 or so clients. I have tried disabling scribe and some other things but...

Out of Memory Errors 388.1 / No space left on device [SOLUTIONS]

If you want to avoid waiting for it to crash, install 'htop' in entware, run that and then sort by M_RESIDENT. networkmap will probably be at the top. Under 10k RES seems to be normal, after a day it will be over 10k and after a week it will be approaching 50k in my experience. After 2 days you...
