    It has been so long since I looked at the Connected Devices on the satellite that I honestly cannot remember. I will reboot the router. That's fast, simple, and doesn't require reentering device configurations! Thank you for confirming it is likely something I did (or failed to do).

    Another embarrassing revelation. Orbi LAN computers did not respond to ping because the Windows Firewall blocked ICMP from other subnets. Allowed that (in File and Printer Sharing - who would EVER think to look THERE?). Now, Linux over "tun" VPN pings devices just like Windows over "tap" VPN...

    So near, and yet so far. Bought a spare RBR50 on eBay. Updated it to Netgear stock 2.3.5.0 and then to Voxel 9.2.5.1.11FS-HW. Saved the config file from my 'production' RBR50, loaded it to the 'Voxel' RBR50 and swapped them. HOT DAMN. Not only does it work, but all my devices reconnected...
