    [Release 382] Asuswrt-Merlin 382.1 is now available

What scares me is that it's a completely random behavior; I tried to modify several parameters on smb.conf, but the speed variation seems not affected by them, but by something else in the enviroment or in the SAMBA server itself

    [Release 382] Asuswrt-Merlin 382.1 is now available

I'm just curious if the same happens also with the latest stock FW from ASUS...it's quite annoying, since the FTP service is not affected by this bug anyhow

    [Release 382] Asuswrt-Merlin 382.1 is now available

Eh eh, I don't know what happened, but now I re-tested both my HDD (connected via USB3 hub, EXT4 fs both) and I hit 107-108 Mb/s with SAMBA...

    [Release 382] Asuswrt-Merlin 382.1 is now available

Here we go, tc qdisc show (in attachment) number of chars on custom_clientlist: 974; maybe the limit is 1000? EDIT: Ok, I tried to reset the following field on NVRAM: 'dhcp_staticlist' 'custom_clientlist' several 'wl_maclist' And I tried to put before entries on Wireless MAC filter and then...

    [Release 382] Asuswrt-Merlin 382.1 is now available

For the connection, I'm on PPPoE I can provide you with my custom_clientlist NVRAM value, if needed Furthermore I found that SAMBA speed has been limited to 15Mb/s somehow, just after I fully configured the router. At the very beginning the speed was ok (almost 100Mb/s)

    [Release 382] Asuswrt-Merlin 382.1 is now available

Mhhh probably there is an issue on the QOS statistics page too: The 382.1 is a fresh install on this router

    [Release 382] Asuswrt-Merlin 382.1 is now available

Hi @RMerlin, maybe I found a bug on 382.1 and RT-AC86U. I don't know if it's cosmetic or it affects the NVRAM values, but when I try to set either the Icon or the Name of the 8th element (and all the subsequent ones) on the Guest WiFi, these values have not been changed (icon remains the default...

    RT-AC86U hit the FCC

Hey, is it possible with this router with kernel 4.x to connect a USB 3.0 hub on the USB3.0 port?

[Beta] Asuswrt-Merlin 382.1 Beta is available

Hi @RMerlin, I've updated my RT-AC88U from 380.68_4 to 382.1_beta1 and all went smooth (no factory restore), excepting for the following: My CTF Hw Acceleration changed from disabled (380.68_4) to automatic (382.1_beta1): I reverted it to disabled, due to inconsistency with QOS management...

Was my router's username and password hacked?

I have installed the android app on my phone (LG G4), but I use it sporadically: doI have to be afraid of?

Was my router's username and password hacked?

I don't know if this could be helpful, but I analyzed again the syslog and I found that the first access was made just after something strange was happened; see the log below: Dec 30 08:51:18 dropbear[29944]: Child connection from 80.184.82.29:56478 Dec 30 08:51:19 rc_service: httpd...

Was my router's username and password hacked?

This is exactly what happened to me, excepting that I had already SSH enabled on both LAN and WAN sides. They canhed the port to 2222. It cannot be a coincidence at this point, but I think they discovered a weak spot on some part of the router defense here...BTW, I secured my router as suggested...

    Malicious access, only 1 attempt

I saw the other thread: it's a strange coincidence there have been 2 cases in only 2 days, or not?

    Malicious access, only 1 attempt

Hi guys, I don't know if this is the right place to post this experience, but I'm running the latest stable Merlin firmware (380.64) and yesterday, during the new year eve, I discovered someone managed to access to my router, both with SSH and webUI. Here are the involved lines on syslog...
