    YazFi YazFi v4.x

Is there anything about these scripts that might cause my RT-AC68U to turn off CTF and the like, and instead do ALL packet processing in the CPU ?? I ask, because I recently updated the router to Merlin 386.3_2, and had to add YazFi to it to get the guest networks running again. But the router...

Cannot access web interface on RT-AC86U

Web GUI vanishing here for me too on RT-AC68U after I updated to latest Merlin today. Previous update was 2-years ago, and no issues in the interim until today's update. I did a full factory reset and re-config after the first time it failed, and it promptly failed again not long after getting...

Web Interface for RT-AC86U not working, need to reboot router

Just updated for first time in two years on my RT-AC68U. And.. same issue. Got bitten twice by it already in one evening. Web GUI just stops responding after the login prompt. Anyone know the shell command to restart just the Web GUI? Doing a full reboot takes a while.. EDIT: Apparently...

    Does T-Mobile/ASUS TM-AC1900 (RT-AC68U) Support Merlin?

Assuming that you have copied the mtd-write executable to the router, and have it present and marked as executable in your current working directory on the router, then the correct command is: ./mtd-write -i new_cfe.bin -d boot Notice the ./ prefix there!!

    Guest networks and DHCP

I have not yet attempted to use the VPN client functionality of the router, so I don't know anything about it. I cannot help you there at this time, but perhaps others here can/will do so.

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.64_2 is now available

I updated directly from 380.62_1 with needing to restore settings, and thus far all seems okay.

    Guest networks and DHCP

Yeah. :) On a related note, things run from those scripts may still fail somewhat randomly, because Merlin launches the scripts asynchronously.. so things run from the scripts don't necessarily run in any particular sequence w.r.t. anything else on the router.

    Guest networks and DHCP

That script of mine is only for the situation where the router's DHCP server is DISABLED in the GUI, and DHCP is handled (non-guests) by a separate DHCP server on the LAN. You mentioned "..the router DHCP is taking over..", which suggests that the router's DHCP server has NOT been DISABLED. In...

    Does T-Mobile/ASUS TM-AC1900 (RT-AC68U) Support Merlin?

I had to flash the mini Tomato build before anything else worked on mine.

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

RE: TM-AC1900 eBay. Cost me about CAD$128 all-in (purchase, exchange, shipping, taxes).

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

Does this fork have some form of throughput (mbits/sec) graphs/speedometers for upload/download rates? Thanks.

[Beta] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.63 Beta is now available

Is that the entire command-line equivalent of flashing new .trx through the web GUI, or are there other MTD partitions that also need updating? Just trying to simplify things for me here too. Thanks

    Guest networks and DHCP

The manpage seems to specify placing it after the -p rather than before, as does the built-in help text. So probably have the syntax okay thanks. Great! I was trying to puzzle out the syntax for that, but it's been a while for me.

    Guest networks and DHCP

Mmm.. I tried replacing the three original rules with the "! 0x886c" rule, but then my guest wifi stopped working. Switched it back, and all okay again. Also on an RT-AC68U.

    Guest networks and DHCP

#define ETHER_TYPE_BRCM 0x886c /* Broadcom Corp. */ #define ETH_P_LINK_CTL 0x886c /* HPNA, wlan link local tunnel */ That's all I know. But it does make sense that *something* needs to traverse from the guest wlan to the primary bridge, because the WPA/WPA2...

Anyone know the original TX power of Tmobile's RT-AC68 Firmware

It is possible that the router may have chosen a different channel for 5GHz than what it was using as a TM router. Different channels have different power constraints. In general, the higher the channel number, the more likely it is permitted to run at higher power. Mine is currently using...

Thanks for spotting that! Fixed. Cheers

    Guest networks and DHCP

After having the same problem -- no DHCP for guest networks when main LAN has its own DHCP server -- I came up with a script to automatically take care of things. This works for up to three guest networks per band, or six in total, same as the Merlin GUI. It puts the 2.4GHz guests onto...

Best way/place to mount a usbstick at /jffs

Yes, they do seem to use it once mounted. But the default router configuration after fresh install was no jffs. And the router worked fine. I guess it just has to be enabled to use the fancier stuff then. Back to the issue here: init-start is run non-blocking, which means it is NOT...
